OVERALL PERSONALITY
Elijah may not be the biggest fan of large groups but when he is with a small group of friends he becomes a true social butterfly. Even if it is strangers, so long as it is a small group he can manage to do pretty good as well socially. He is not afraid to take charge of a situation if there is a lack of leadership. When he is put in the position of leading he is the no bullshit, straight to the point type. Elijah has always been one to trust his friends and gain the trust of others through his dedication. Once he has made friends with a person there is no question of his loyalty to them through thick or thin. One could always assume he will be there at their side even if they are in the wrong. Of course this can be considered a good and bad thing and has more then once landed him on the wrong side of an argument. Including one occasion where a fun little trip out to the bar landed him a night in the brig and nearly his Corporal rank while he was in the service. Even with that though he did not turn and blame his friend for what happened but continued to stand at his side.
When it comes to work Elijah is very dedicated as well and will push through any situation to the bitter end never relenting on his goals. That said though he is far from perfect and is not the most patient person when things do not go his way. He can lose his temper and god forbid you put him in front of a computer to try and figure something out. Elijah and the simplest computer can turn him into a multilingual dictionary of every foul word, saying, or phrase still in use, and even a few long forgotten ones.

BACKSTORYElijah was born April 14th, 2557 to David and Melissa Bainbridge as the third male child and last in the family. The Bainbridge clan had a long history of having male children for many generations. Like his brother, his father, and his father's father, Elijah was born on Haven, a small unimportant moon that is easilyover looked in the 'Verse. The same of course can not be said about the Bainbridge clan.
There was a time that the Bainbridge family line was known for being criminals, thieves and the issue with modern society. That changed in 2506 with Elijah's grand father Sidney Alexander Bainbridge. With the Unification war starting back then Sidney lead the elite 217th forward tactical assault unit during the war. Though Sidney fought on the losing side of the war it led him down a path that would change the Bainbridge family line forever. 2520 Sidney would return to the battlefields this time on Beylix with a newly reformed 217th tactical forward assault battalion under his command just two months before his first son and Elijah's father, David, was born.
Over the following years Sidney would continue the fight against the Alliance like he had done back in the Unification War. By the time Elijah's father had come of age he too joined the service and was part of the 217th. By that point the 217th was an entire brigade and part of an Multi-Planet Independent Defense Force. David like his father would fight against the Alliance over the years until in 2549 the 217th was disbanded as the wars against the Alliance ended. He retired at the rank of Colonel like his father before him, but lets get back on topic here.
Elijah grew up on Haven raised by a stay at home mother and a very busy military man. Young Elijah watched his father and all he did. The man was well known by so many at Canyon Bluff and even Haven itself. His father led one of the most well known military brigades in the war and since then had been a top commander of the moon's small defense forces. The three brothers grew up pretending they were in the military themselves, reenacting the war stories of their father and grandfather. Elijah spent as much of his time as he could as a young boy with his grandfather Sidney. Elijah grew up hearing all of Sidney's stories of all he had done in his life when he was still young. Even showing him his old ship 'Trinity' that now sat in a field on Sidney's property.
Elijah of course spent his time playing in and on the ship whenever he wasn't in school. Just after his 9th birthday a new family moved in to the house next door to them. The Bainbridge family became fast friends with the Bernett family. This friendship was most notable between Elijah and Kalli. Kalli and Elijah grew closer and closer as the years went on dreaming of someday being in a ship of their own in space doing everything Sidney told them about. Elijah of course being the son of a military man saw himself as some sort of space crime fighting hero like any boy would. Kalli of course had more down to earth ideas and focused on how she could work on the ships and keep them flying, along with trying to keep Elijah's dreams from being too grand. All the while the pair grew closer and closer till they were nearly like family. They had a special bond that seemed like it would only grow stronger as they grew into adults.
A few months before Elijah's 16th birthday Sidney passed away causing Elijah to withdraw from his family and friends. Elijah had felt like he lost his best friend, a void he never thought he would feel. Over the next two years his focus shifted from playing with the ship and onto how he would live up to the life of his grandfather. A week after Elijah's 18th birthday he shipped off to basic training on the other side of the moon leaving his family and friends behind.
Elijah took to military life right away doing everything he could to impress. Elijah left basic and went right into jump training for paratroopers. Every week throughout his training he received a letter from Kalli telling him all of what was going on back home and encouraging him in his endeavors in the service. After completing his training he to was sent off to the 7th infantry company as a paratrooper back in Canyon Bluff. His time back home was short lived when his unit was activated nine months after he got there and sent off to New Omaha fighting against corporate miners intent on tapping Haven's resources. Tensions between Haven and New Omaha had been growing as New Omaha continued to turn a blind eye to the miners using their moon as a base of operations against Haven.
475 men were sent from Haven to deal with any forces that New Omaha and the mining corporation could put up and Elijah's squad would be the tip of the spear being dropped in from high altitude to secure a location to use as a base of operations for the fight. Though the majority of the fight between the two sides would be over within less than three weeks the entire force would spend the next seven months on the moon making sure they had cleaned up any remnants of the mining corp's hired mercs, the number of fighters being so small and the territory to cover being so very large. Slowly the forces were drawn down with Elijah and his company being the last to be pulled out after an additional thirteen months.
When Elijah returned to Haven his friend Kalli had left to find work off the moon. Elijah would spend the remaining months of his time in service there on Haven with little of note to mention. Just over 22 when his time with the service ended. He could not see himself continuing in the service with there no longer being any grand reason to continue like his father and grandfather had before him. Elijah left home as well seeking a better future for himself than being stuck on the small moon of Haven he was raised on. Elijah went to the Georgian Federation where he would find jobs as a hired gun or bodyguard until he ran into his old friend Kalli who was now working for a merc outfit as the ship's mechanic. With no more then a few simple words Kalli got Elijah hired onto the company.
For six months the ship would make its way through the 'Verse doing jobs that payed better than Elijah ever would have thought he would be able to make. From Persephone to New Canaan the ship and her crew did well making a profit at every turn. Every penny Elijah made was tucked away for his and Kalli's rekindled hopes of having their own ship. Like all good things though the business dried up and the company decommissioned the ship and let the crew go. It wasn't but a few weeks later that the pair had found their way to their new home aboard the Peerless as part of her crew. For the last year the two have spent their time on the Peerless growing accustomed to the larger ship and larger crew. With the larger ship came bigger jobs and if all goes well, better pay.ROLEPLAY SAMPLEForty-four men stood sweating in the cargo bay of the ship one after another in four rows. The room was hot and the tension and stress just made each and every one of them seem like a small nuclear reactor missing its cooling system. They were only minutes away now and soon the hatch on the back would open and they would be free falling onto New Omaha. Their landing zone had been code named Gaza Point. God knows where they came up with that name and why, but there it was just on the horizon of the moon if you looked out the tiny slit of a window on the port side of the cargo bay. Elijah was the first person in the line on the port side. He would be in the first four out the door and with the way he jumped likely the first to the ground as well.
He wasn’t totally sure if that was a good or bad thing. They would be jumping from 34,000 feet. At the upper most edge of the small moon's atmosphere. Their decent would start slowly as gravity began to take effect. Over all it would take them just over 4 minutes to reach the 3,000 foot target point of opening their parachutes. That would leave roughly 68 seconds of controlled fall for them to land. Elijah didn’t believe in being a sitting duck for that long and had made it a habit of waiting just over 1,000 feet and 20 seconds of controlled fall. Minimize your risk of being a target and you had a better chance of survival. Of course he had only practiced this in training and never in a live situation before. This was going to be the real test of how foolish he was for thinking that. The only saving grace was that Sergeant Cox and Private Pruett were of the same school of thought and he would not be the only one reaching the ground forty-eight seconds before everyone else.
Elijah looked over to Sergeant Cox and gave the best smile he could. ”Ready for this sarge?” He asked. Cox smiled bad, but before he could talk an alarm sounded letting them know they were 15 seconds out and helmets needed to be put on. The whole group quickly slid their helmets on and locked them in place, each person checking the man beside them. Cox checked off Elijah’s and he the same for his NCO. Cox simply gave him a thumbs up in reply to his comment a moment ago and grabbed onto the upper rail between their heads. The door cracked open and the air began to rush from the cargo bay. They were still up where the air was thin, almost nonexistent. Elijah looked up to the top of the cargo bay door at the red light. The second it turned green it was time.
All he could think was ‘what did I get myself into.’ And in a flash the light was green and he was running for the door. With a quick leap he was out of the cargo bay and everything was silent, at least for a time. Twenty seconds passed and all that could be heard in the suit was his breathing. Then slowly the rippling sound of the growing atmosphere began to sound. Elijah looked around, nothing. He looked down below him and still nothing. He rolled himself back as much as he could in the thin atmosphere and still saw nothing. Finally he flipped himself over to his back and could see it all. Everyone had drug off west and he had gone east. The distance between him and the others was nearly half a click already, except for what he could only assume was Cox and Pruett working their way as best they could toward him. They would all have to wait till the atmosphere thickened to redirect closer to each other and hopefully back toward the rest of the group.
