Kalli is often seen wearing overalls and a plain t-shirt for working on the ship. These close are covered in a mix of engine grease, dirt, and tools hanging from every place one can be stuck. The rest of the time though kalli loves to be fashionable wearing an assortment of colors and styles. The one common denominator is she always has a cross on. Be it one of over thirty necklaces or bracelets there is a cross on her at all times.

OVERALL PERSONALITY
Well if it wasn't nearly six hundred years in the future I would simply say she is a cross between the real life embodiment of Disney's Snow White always happy attitude and Bambi's shyness, but alas it is 2582 and we need to be more modern for people today. So with no further ado here we go. Kalli is willing to be friends with anyone and everyone. In fact she has never met a person she didn't instantly trust and like, even those she probably should have steered away from for the sake of not being misconstrued as associated with them. Are you in need of a new friend? Yes? Well good, you got one. Oh wait you said no? Too bad. You will just have to learn to live with it, and you are in luck because she will teach you how to live with it even if it means spending extra time with you. You want a secret kept? That can be done too. Her lips are sealed, well, unless your secret is something about how you have found the love of your life. In that case your secret is kept except to anyone she thinks might just be able to help her play matchmaker along the way.
Now lets start to dig deep here though. Anyone can talk about how they are a matchmaker or good at making friends, but what is it down inside Kalli that really makes her tick? What are the true little bits of Kalli that make her personality what it is? Well, lets get a small touch on her history... Don't worry I am saving the best part of her history for the back story section, but you really need to know these little bits to dive into her personality. So lets start off with her father, Killian. Ahem... Yes she was named after her father, a little conceited don't you think? Yeah, me too. I mean, come on. Who names their daughter after their father? A man who wanted a son and got a daughter, that's who. As you can imagine this can be a tough hurdle for a young girl to overcome. Kalli may have had more trouble than others would have to overcome this. Not really sure though because, again, come on, who does that... no one, that's who, So I really have no other example to really judge how much it should take to overcome this. The one thing I can say is that Kalli never felt good enough for her father, and he never did much to help her get past that. So here she is, 22 years old and still fighting her demons over confidence. Sure you put her in a social situation and she does fine, but she never believes she is good enough for people in most any way.
Lets move on though to issue number two, Isabelle. That's right, daddy issues wasn't enough. We really need to add mother issues as well. Actually stepmothers, see, I told you Disney, didn't I? As a quick Cliffsnote though, her biological mother died six months after she was born in a terraforming incident. Like Killian, her father, Isabelle was a business person. She had spent her life building her own little mining empire, and when Kalli was three she married her father and his industrial parts company was merged into her little empire. The only thing getting in the way of their perfect little life of business was a three year old girl to take care of. Isabelle promptly hired on a team of people to "teach" her... how to stay out of their lives. As you could imagine, Kalli might have a little resentment there and abandonment issues that came with all of that.
Now, seeing as all the dirty laundry has been aired, lets get back to the positive aspects of Kalli because even with all the aforementioned negative, Kalli really is a positive soul. No really, she isn't all messed up like you might think. Have you ever had someone walking up to you, and you just get a smile on your face because you just know they are going to brighten your day, you know like a ray of sunshine? Well, that is Kalli. She always wants to make other people's lives brighter and better. She will put others' wants and needs before her own. She would give you the shirt off her back if she thought it would help. She is also a perfectionist when it comes to everything she does. She hates to fail and will lose sleep over an unfinished project.

BACKSTORYKalli was born right there smack dab in the lap of luxury, you guessed it, on a private floating island on Bellerophon to Killian and Sasha Bernett. Like I mentioned before, she was named Kalli-Ann after her father Killian. He had wanted a son so desperately that he named his daughter after him. Who knows why really, maybe just to pretend that she was a boy or maybe it was just a slap in the face to her. Kalli still wonders why to this day, though I doubt she will ever really find out. For the first six months of her life she was pampered by her mother though. She loved Kalli dearly and wanted the world for her. It would have seemed she was going to get it all. They had everything: a private floating island, a giant yacht, beautiful views, and people to tend to their every needs. Then just after Kalli was six months old her mother was called away for work, a trip that would end tragically. You see, Killian owned an industrial supplies business that spanned many worlds as well as governments. Well, Sasha was a mechanical engineer for the company as well. That is how she and Killian met in the first place. She led the design on many of their products, everything from mining supplies, their specialty, to terraforming products.
Back to Sasha's tragic trip... Several of their new products were due to be installed on a terraforming platform, and she personally wanted to oversee the process. The exact details of what happened never surfaced, but three days after she had arrived on the platform it suffered a catastrophic failure leading to several explosions killing nearly everyone on the platform, including her mother. Luckily for Kalli she was too young at the time to really understand what happened, and time mends all wounds. Time passed week by week, month by month, year by year and it grew normal to Kalli not to have a mother. When Kalli was three Killian brought her a new mother, Isabelle. At first things seemed fine for a three year old. Little by little though things changed, and Kalli began to spend more and more time finding things to do by herself.
Then things changed again. The family moved to Haven, yeah Haven. Who the hell made that choice? Oh right, Isabelle. She saw it as the perfect place for them to "enjoy family life", and of course to work her way into getting mining rights on the moon to line the pockets of her mining empire. This actually turned out to be the best thing they ever did for Kalli, most likely the best thing they ever will do for her as well. Isabelle and Killian made quick work of befriending their neighbors, the Bainbridge's. Kalli did her part as well, quickly becoming friends with their youngest son, Elijah. The two were instantly friends; there was no denying that. For Isabelle this was perfect. The girl was no longer in their way and only helped build their relationship with neighbors, all the while they were buying up as much land on the moon as they could. That was a lot of land mind you, and much of it was bound to have valuable resources ripe for the taking there.
Kalli and Elijah became inseparable, and she was introduced to his grandfather Sidney who treated her more like a daughter than her own father did and introduced her to his old ship. The next eight or so years rolled by in a flash. Kalli learned part by part everything about the ship. When she was fourteen things changed. Kalli was now in high school and becoming a young woman. As you can guess at this age there are many changes a young woman is going through. They start to notice boys, and when you spend all your time with one certain one for so long attachments are bound to be formed. Those attachments were starting to shift to something more. Alas, it seemed that he hadn't noticed and just before she got up the nerve to tell him Sidney passed away and the two were devastated by it. Elijah grew more withdrawn from everyone, but Kalli wasn't going to let their bond fall apart. She was there for him as a friend, encouraging him to not be sad but live on to honor Sidney's memory.
A few years later and Elijah did just that. He left for the military and Kalli was left alone, there back home doing everything she could to avoid her father and stepmother. She only had two years left before she too was out of there. Seven hours after her graduation. Well, seven hours, sixteen minutes and who knows how many seconds after (not that she was counting) she was on the first ship she could get on. It just so happened to take her to Persephone. It was quiet the change from Haven. Kalli had never been surrounded by so many people, and she loved it. Unfortunately she wasn't made of money and couldn't just sit around and enjoy her time on the planet. She had to find work right away, and that she did. She found herself on a mercenary ship in no time as a mechanic. For her it turned out to be the perfect job. She got to tinker with the ship all she wanted and got paid to do it. She got to explore the 'Verse all the while.
It only got better when Elijah got out of the service and contacted her. She quickly found him a job there as well and for a while things went even better with her best friend at her side. Sadly it ended all too soon and they were soon looking for work together. Had it not been for Elijah's assertiveness they probably would have taken forever to find another gig just as good, but somehow he landed them on the Peerless under Captain Davis in short time and now for the last two years Elijah and her have been enjoying their chance to see the 'Verse with a great crew, and plenty of work. Where the 'Verse will take her from here is yet to be seen.ROLEPLAY SAMPLEKalli stood there waiting as the transport ship waited in the back ground. Her eyes were glossy as she tried to hold back the tears. Elijah was just about to leave for basic and she just wanted to tell him. God, more than anything she wanted to tell him. 'Please don't go. I love you. Just stay here with me. Please.' She could think it, but the words just wouldn't come out. It wasn't like he was going to be gone forever, or that what she had to say would change anything. She didn't even believe he would say anything back. Why would he after all?
All the young men were standing there saying goodbye to their families, girlfriends, and in a few cases even wives. There were so many tears to be shed yet for some reason Kalli felt she couldn't let it out. She had no right to after all, right?
"Kalli, I'll see you in a few months alright. I expect you to write. Okay?" Elijah said to her as he stepped back.
Kalli smiled as best she could, her eyes getting more watery with every moment. She nodded her head unable to squeak out the words. Then she lunged forward and hugged him. "You got it, Eli. I'll write you when I can." She replied in a whisper to him, still fighting her voice from cracking she went on. "Be safe. I want you back here when you are done."
Elijah smiled back at her and laughed. "It's basic training. It's not like I am heading into combat." Then he turned and walked toward the ship. It was time for him to go. Kalli looked to Melissa, Elijah's mother. Melissa looped an arm around the young girl and held her tight. She knew what was going on even if Kalli would never say it.
