The Captain: Pick Harwood is a drunkard and a gambler who is prone sudden changes in mood and erratic behavior. Long story short he is always drunk and always crazy, but he has a ship. A flying palace of booze,gambling of all sorts, and women. Oh the women. A place for those who don't want to face reality any more, a place free from restriction and judging eyes. Plus running your own casino ship is like printing money, and Pick likes money.

Tell us about the Ship:
The whole point of The Promised Land is to be a haven for the sinners of the verse. This is the place were you go to fulfill all your more sordid needs, short of slavery and torture. The Promised Land travels all over the the Rim and border planets spreading the fun around. They serve anyone with money. The other point to the ship is to be Pick's personal playground and excuse to fulfill every stupid whim he can think of. Pick has tried to make every part of his ship profitable as possible. He even worked out a deal were, for ten percent of the reward, bounty hunters can drop off their catches and the Promised Land will will drop them off to the authorities for them.

The Promised Land is a Odin line Odyssey-class space liner that has been outfitted to be a casino ship. It was once private cruise-liner named the Ebony Moon and was owned by Delbrook Jones, and most of the old crew stayed on even though they are aware of Pick's plans. It has a lot of rooms for passengers including 20 double cabins, 20 holding cells, and 4 VIP suites, plus 14 Standard 20-ton shuttles for passenger transport. It can also support a large crew of about sixty plus an entire crew deck for the management. The only on board weapon is a hidden pop-up turret with 10 short-range 50-pound missiles, but since it is an illegal weapon it is kept hidden most of the time. The munitions are actually fairly hard to come by, Pick uses a supplier on Beaumonde named Ru Jiang.

On the inside the ship has all sorts of amenities, including dining and Lots of entertainment. There is a casino, fighting ring, pool, hot tub, massage rooms , and other less than legal activities.

Pick Harwood has spent many years searching for what most gamblers spend there lives looking for, the big payout. After one high stakes game , that could just as easily ended with a loan shark named Carmen scooping out Pick's eyes, he got it. Even after pay off some of his debts(like one percent), he had more money than he could ever dream of. Two weeks after his big win, after a giant blackout booze filled bender, Pick awoke aboard his newly purchased ship.

Plot Development: The Promised Land crew will start out dealing with the growing shady clientele, the odd requests of passengers, and the whims of their less than stable captain. The fact that he has no ideas what he is doing will probably lead to trouble. Later on I can see the more gritty criminal aspects of running the business getting out of hand, and maybe even Pick's control over the ship could be in jeopardy. Plus the fact that most of what they do is illegal and puts them at odds with the Alliance could come into play.

Requirements: ACTIVITY. At least one IC post a week is the bar minimum requirement. Three weeks absence without notice will lead to being booted from ship. Have fun with it.
