The Basics What is "the List?"This thread is an overview of all stars, planets, moons, notable asteroids and space stations, and other anomalies that exist in the 'Verse. The maps of the 'Verse only go into so much detail (and other than relative location there is hardly any detail at all). Do you want to know more about that random planet you found on the map? Or would you rather find an interesting planet in here and then go and search for it on the map? Whatever your method is, this is a helpful resource to both plan trips through the 'Verse and to try and perhaps add a bit more context and detail to your RP posts. If you're feeling overwhelmed and don't want to go searching down manually, then just use the shortcut ctrl+f and then input the individual planet, moon, star, asteroid, or other keyword you are looking for. How is the List organized and how do I navigate it?The List is organized the way 34 Tauri is organized. The star cluster we know as "the 'Verse" has one central star (White Sun) with four primary stars orbiting it. The systems are listed in order of their general proximity from the center of the 'Verse i.e. their distance from White Sun (Red Sun and Georgia being tied). This distance generally coincides with level of industrial development, population, and the length of time the worlds have been terraformed. Each of the five primary stars has its own post with the various objects orbiting it following down the page in order from closets to farthest orbits. Each planet, gas giant, or even helioformed star will have those moons or even planets that orbit them following directly below them in the same order from nearest to farthest. Woah, woah, woah. Back up. What's a "34 Tauri?"34 Tauri, or more precisely 34Tauri(2020), is the "old" name for the 'Verse and the official designation of the star cluster humanity now inhabits. It is so named as the 'Verse, when viewed from Earth-That-Was, is part of the constellation Taurus and was given this numerical designation when designated in 2020. Only later after it was chosen as the most promising destination for the exodus fleet did it obtain the common name "the 'Verse." What does the standard entry on the List look like?Name Designation Orbital Distance: Length of the radius of the planet, moon, or star's orbit measured in AU i.e. the average distance it is away from that object around which it orbits. Rotational Period: Time in years or days it takes for the planet, moon, or star to make one full revolution around its orbit. Size: Typically measured in surface area, not diameter or mass (Percentage compared to that of Earth-That-Was or the Moon) Population: How many people are permanent residents - most "spacers" are considered residents of their original homeworld until obtaining a new permanent residence Terraformed: Year completed (Years since being terraformed) Note(s): Any important information about the location, unique qualities of it, etc. What's a designation?Just as the 'Verse has a more scientific designation, so too do each of the planets. The formula is: Celestial Body/Year of Discovery(Primary)Order discovered/catalog designation for that primaryThe Celestial body is either: - P - Planet (both terrestrial worlds and gas giants including gas giants that have since been helioformed).
- S - Satellite (moons as well as planets that orbit a helioformed star).
- A - Asteroids.
For example, Londinium's common designation is P/2027(White Sun)03 because it is a P, planet, discovered in 2027 orbiting White Sun and was the third planet cataloged as orbiting the star. If you want to be extremely technical, the full designation is P/2027(34Tauri(2020)A)03 because White Sun's designation is 34Tauri(2020)A. For this list, however, all designations will include common names for primaries. You can get more detailed and technical in your RP or other uses of the list if you like. (And yes, they get much more complicated than Londinium. See New Luxor -S/2176(S/2032(P/2020(34Tauri(2020)A)01)01)02.) For those interested in reading even more, this system along with other base information comes from the Verse in Numbers although there have been modifications and tweaks for Dreaming of Serenity. What's a L3 and L4?Those are Lagrangian points with L denoting this and the number (1 through 5) denoting which specific point. In short, Lagrangian points are locations in relation to a planet's (or anything really) orbit in which the gravity of the planet is offset perfectly by that of the body it orbits (or whatever the relation might be e.g. a moon and a planet also have such points). Because of this unique gravitational condition, smaller objects can find their way into these points and effectively become joined to the planet's rotation. They will thus orbit the star along with the planet but without also orbiting the planet like a moon would. - L1 - Located between the planet and the star.
- L2 - Located directly behind the planet.
- L3 - Located behind the star on the complete opposite side of the planet's orbital path.
- L4 - Located "ahead" of the planet on its orbital path.
- L5 - Located "behind" the planet on it's orbital path.
Still confused? Hopefully this image will help. Why are all these moons smaller than Earth's moon? Our moon is freaking huge, abnormally so for a planet of our size. It's the fifth largest moon in our solar system and remember there are tons of freaking moons around the gas giants. For comparison, Earth's moon is about 50 million times the size of Mars' larger moon. Yeah. So when you see a moon which has 10% of the surface area of our moon, that's still pretty big. And next time you look up at the moon appreciate how freaking huge it is and remember how awesome Earth is to have a beast like that flying around it. Anything more you can tell us than surface area?Yes and no. I could go into more detail but that would be mindnumbingly boring. Just keep in mind that surface area roughly equates to mass, but does not equally represent radius or "size". Londinium is about twice Earth's mass and surface area but only 1.4 times the radius so keep that in mind when imagining planets... if you are still even following me. (If having difficulty imagining this, replace planets with basic circles or even equate it to something more tangible like human body size to body mass and how small increases in size will create larger and larger increases in surface area and weight/mass even though the size increases remain constant.) When it comes to the land itself, most terraformed worlds are 30-40% land (and naturally 60-70% water). Again, for reference, Earth is only 29% land. So just about all terraformed worlds have a slightly higher ratio of land to water than Earth does. Again, this is another part of shaping worlds to general and desirable specifications. A water world would be pretty much useless as would a world without oceans. The terraforming process tries to balance productivity and the needs of the ecology although some worlds do fall outside the norm either by design or mistake. That being said, moons are typically more arid with 50-60% land mass (and 40-50% water). What's a Barycenter?A barycenter is the point in space where the mass of two objects balance. It is around this point that orbits are formed. This can get REALLY complicated REALLY fast as there are many forces pulling in space (the 'Verse more than our own solar system) and I'd rather not drag us down the road of the-moon-doesn't-actually-orbit-the-center-of-the-Earth-nor-does-the-Earth-orbit-the-Sun. For our purposes, you merely need to know that when two objects of relatively equal size (more comparable than the Earth to the Moon or a planet to a star) such as twin or double planets (or moons or asteroids) orbit around each other while they orbit around their star, that point in space between them where their gravity offsets is called the barycenter. Keep in mind that a barycenter is different from a lagrangian point. The former involves two objects orbiting each other as they together orbit something else. The latter involves one object remaining relatively stationary in relation to a second object while the two of them orbit a third body together. Objects in a lagrangian point can be said to "follow" their primary as it moves. Barycenters cause both objects to "dance" around each other as they move along their orbit. For an illustration of this point, look at the difference between Priam and Ithaca which orbit each other around a barycenter and Zephyr and Angel which merely follow each other around the same orbit stuck in the lagrangian points of the other.

The standard crew is 5000 but these numbers vary. Terraforming crews are not factored into total system population.

- Rubicon's terraforming was so long delayed due to unusual conditions on the world. Initially the planet lay dormant for many yeas near the Core, purposely skipped over. In 2492, the Alliance finally attempted terraforming with little success. Rubicon sat in a half-terraformed state for many years until a war-time advancement was re-purposed to solve the issue and at long last Rubicon was shaped into a new Earth.
- Due to its recent founding, Rubicon is difficult to classify but is generally considered a border world.
Osiris P/2027(White Sun)06 Orbital Distance: 13.50 AU Rotational Period: 49.60 Years Surface Area: 574,507,852 km2 (113% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 4,500,000,000 Terraformed: 2256 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):- Osiris is widely considered to be the heart of the Alliance military. It is home to numerous dry docks, the Admiralty, and one of the 'Verse's main military academies.
- Osiris is also know for its prestigious civilian universities.
- Osiris is the primary seat of the Alliance judiciary, playing host to their high courts.
Epeuva S/2176(Osiris)01 Rotational Period: 6.80 Days Surface Area: 10,705,656 km2 (28.2% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 3,000,000 Terraformed: 2256 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):Tannhauser S/2176(Osiris)02 Rotational Period: 15.60 Days Surface Area: 5,802,148 km2 (15.3% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 250,000 Terraformed: 2256 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):- Tannhauser is notable for an experimental "core siphon" power system which draws energy directly from the moon itself.
Qin Shi Huang P/2020(White Sun)01 Orbital Distance: 16.312 AU Rotational Period: 65.88 Years Size: .31 that of Sol Helioformed: 2271 Note(s):- Qin Shi Huang is the second smallest star in the 'Verse.
- Qin Shi Huang was also the last star helioformed because of its location in the Core and proximity to White Sun. The early settlers of the 'Verse wanted to make sure that the process was perfected before they risked helioforming near the major population centers.
L4 Asteroids:- Changjiao - A/2273(White Sun)e7gh1
- Huha - A/2271(White Sun)e0ga0
- Isis - A/2277(White Sun)kg68g

Santo S/2032(Qin Shi Huang)01 Orbital Distance: 0.25 AU Rotational Period: 2.27 Years Surface Area: 144,840,302 km2 (28.4% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 900,000,000 Terraformed: 2305 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):- Until Rubicon was terraformed, Santo was considered the first border world on the way out from White Sun. Santo is considered more Core than Rim due primarily to its location. Going by culture, Santo actually tends to lean more toward the lifestyle of a Rim world.
- Santo's main claim to fame is as a tourist attraction with gambling being chief among those attractions. Santo is generally considered a beautiful world, but its unique classification also enhances its appeal for all comers. Rim folk can come here wanting a taste of Core life without breaking the bank and Core folk can sample Rim life without going all too far. And for those who just want a truly relaxing and upscale vacation, there are places for you too on Santo.
Tethys S/2173(Santo)01 Rotational Period: 8.20 Days Surface Area: 2,955,925 km2 (7.8% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 30,000 Terraformed: 2305 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):New Luxor S/2176(Santo)02 Rotational Period: 16.40 Days Surface Area: 3,048,052 km2 (8.0% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 175,000 Terraformed: 2305 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):Valentine P/2028(White Sun)09 Orbital Distance: 19.13 AU Rotational Period: 83.64 Years Surface Area: 275,116,067 km2 (53.9% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 2,750,000,000 Terraformed: 2266 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):Selene S/2176(Valentine)01 Rotational Period: 4.40 Days Surface Area: 3,160,470 km2 (8.3% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 9,000,000 Terraformed: 2266 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):Chons S/2176(Valentine)02 Rotational Period: 27.00 Days Surface Area: 3,255,708 km2 (8.6% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 12,000,000 Terraformed: 2266 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):Bellerophon P/2027(White Sun)08 Orbital Distance: 19.50 AU Rotational Period: 86.11 Years Surface Area: 472,667,556 km2 (92.7% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 3,500,000,000 Terraformed: 2266 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):Tyrins S/2172(Bellerophon)01 Rotational Period: 6.00 Days Surface Area: 6,659,975 km2 (17.6% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 8,000,000 Terraformed: 2266 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):Xanthus S/2172(Bellerophon)02 Rotational Period: 9.80 Days Surface Area: 5,717,073 km2 (15.1% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 6,500,000 Terraformed: 2266 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):Parth S/2172(Bellerophon)03 Rotational Period: 13.65 Days Surface Area: 3,179,405 km2 (8.4% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 4,000,000 Terraformed: 2266 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):Ariel P/2027(White Sun)07 Orbital Distance: 20.63 AU Rotational Period: 93.67 Years Surface Area: 532,236,865 km2 (104% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 4,000,000,000 Terraformed: 2266 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):- Considered the center of medical knowledge in the 'Verse, both academic and practical. Ariel is home to the best medical schools as well as the best hospitals.
Ariopolis S/2176(Ariel)01 Rotational Period: 12.80 Days Surface Area: 3,630,503 km2 (9.6% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 7,000,000 Terraformed: 2266 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):- Ariopolis is known for its manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, not unexpected considering its primary is Ariel.
Shiva S/2176(Ariel)02 Rotational Period: 25.10 Days Surface Area: 3,160,470 km2 (8.3% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 5,500,000 Terraformed: 2266 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):- Shiva is a resource rich moon with substantial mining operations as well as a notable Alliance military outpost.
Poseidon S/2176(Ariel)03 Rotational Period: 27.90 Days Surface Area: 3,294,199 km2 (8.7% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 6,000,000 Terraformed: 2266 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):- Poseidon in known as a retreat within the Core, a place to escape and relax without bothering with shady Santo or travelling out to some distant yet beautiful Rim world.
- Chief among Poseidon's attractions is the Stimmengott opera house in the city of Rishi.
Albion P/2028(White Sun)11 Orbital Distance: 21.38 AU Rotational Period: 90.08 Years Surface Area: 363,726,058 km2 (71.3% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 2,500,000,000 Terraformed: 2270 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):Avalon S/2172(Albion)01 Rotational Period: 27.30 Days Surface Area: 7,932,273 km2 (20.9% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 12,000,000 Terraformed: 2270 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):Lux P/2020(White Sun)02 Orbital Distance: 30.00 AU Rotational Period: 164.32 Years Size: .39 that of Sol Helioformed: 2261 Note(s):- Lux is unique in that it moves around White Sun in a retrograde orbit (i.e. that it orbits in the opposite direction, not merely that it rotates on its axis in a different direction.). In turn, both Persephone and Pelorun orbit Lux in anti-retrograde (i.e. they move the same direction as other White Sun planets even though their primary is going in reverse).
- Lux was the second to last star to be helioformed in the 'Verse.
Persephone S/2040(Lux)02 Orbital Distance: 0.36 AU Rotational Period: 3.24 Years Surface Area: 670,854,970 km2 (132% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 4,750,000,000 Terraformed: 2308 Affiliation: Independent Planets of White Sun Note(s):- Persephone is the capital and controlling power of the IPWS.
- Persephone is the king of all Border Worlds. It is the gateway between both Core and Rim. Much of the commerce between the systems passes through Persephone's markets or at least will make a stop there along to the way to the next port of call.
- Persephone's importance is based off a number of factors including: Lux's retrograde orbit giving Persephone a unique relation to the Core worlds it passes in reverse; Persephone is a large and fertile planet (third largest in the system) capable of sustaining a large population and catering to a large influx of trade; Lux/Persephone is also nearby a natural break in the Halo asteroid belt allowing easier navigation through the great obstacle.
- Persephone is also a mix of cultures. There is the wealth and technology of the Core colliding with the poverty of the Rim. Amidst urban poor and criminal activity, Persephone has an interesting level of aristocracy developing to rule the world, or at least the nicer parts of it.
- During the last yer of the Unification War in 2511, Lux and Murphy were at their closest approach points, approximately 20 AU apart. As a result, Lux's Persephone and Murphy's Hera were focal points of the war, and 2511 in particular, as the front line between Alliance and Independent
Hades S/2176(Persephone)01 Rotational Period: 10.90 Days Surface Area: 3,255,708 km2 (8.6% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 25,000 Terraformed: On Hold Affiliation: Independent Planets of White Sun Note(s):- Hades is unusually brittle and would likely not withstand the rigors of the terraforming process. It has therefor been put on indefinite hold pending a time when technology has advanced to the point where the process might be successful.
- With terraforming on hold, the planet has become host to a minor mining settlement since 2310 despite the conditions working on an non-terraformed moon.
Renao S/2177(Persephone)02 Rotational Period: 16.70 Days Surface Area: 3,091,528 km2 (8.2% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 500,000 Terraformed: 2308 Affiliation: Independent Planets of White Sun Note(s):Pelorum S/2040(Lux)01 Orbital Distance: 0.38 AU Rotational Period: 3.42 Years Surface Area: 102,070,345 km2 (20.0% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 800,000,000 Terraformed: 2308 Affiliation: Independent Planets of White Sun Note(s):- Persephone's little brother, Pelorum has all the best parts of Persephone with little of the poverty or crime. For the most part, Pelorum is one's first taste of the Core on their way into the White Sun System.
Kaleidoscope S/2173(Pelorum)01 Rotational Period: 22.70 Days Surface Area: 3,097,764 km2 (8.2% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 1,000,000 Terraformed: 2308 Affiliation: Independent Planets of White Sun Note(s):Dukkha P/2170(White Sun)14 Orbital Distance: 38.53 AU Rotational Period: 248.50 Years Surface Area: 16,245,414 km2 (3.2% that of Earth-That-Was, 42.8% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 300,000 Terraformed: Not Terraformed Affiliation: Independent Planets of White Sun Note(s):- Dukkha is a dwarf planet if ever there was one. It holds the record as smallest planet in the entire 'Verse, smaller even than its nearby cousin Ra Amiran.
- Dukkha is not terraformed nor is it currently scheduled to be terraformed, a fairly rare occurrence. At this time, there simply is no interest in turning this tiny lifeless rock into a new Earth.
- As a result of this, or possibly contributing to the decision to abandon it, Dukkha became a pirate and smuggler haven, a tiny toehold within the White Sun system. The inhabitants would either go to ground on Dukkha or its moons or they'd disperse into Halo only to come back and repopulate the little waystation once the authorities left.
- Since gaining independence, Persephone has taken control of Dukkha and greatly expanded development here. In many ways, it is still a pirate and smuggler haven with the IPWS ignoring the crime right under their noses.

- Georgia is the most similar star in the 'Verse to Earth-That-Was's star, Sol.
Ezra P/2030(Georgia)11 Orbital Distance: 0.35 AU Rotational Period: 0.21 Years Surface Area: 270,957,242 km2 (53.1% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 400,000,000 Terraformed: 2350 Affiliation: Georgian Federation Note(s):- Ezra holds the record for the closest orbit to its start (excluding helioformed stars).
- Ezra also holds the record for the shortest rotational period around that star (including those orbiting helioformed dwarfs) at 76 days.
Herschel S/2176(Ezra)01 Rotational Period: 14.75 Days Surface Area: 7,325,343 km2 (19.3% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 100,000,000 Terraformed: 2350 Affiliation: Georgian Federation Note(s):- Named for William Herschel, the discoverer of Uranus. Uranus was the original "34Tauri" star before Herschel discover that it was in fact a planet within the system of Earth-That-Was thus freeing the name to be applied about 250 years later to the 'Verse.
Regina P/2031(Georgia)12 Orbital Distance: 0.725 AU Rotational Period: 0.62 Years Surface Area: 243,782,818 km2 (47.8% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 450,000,000 Terraformed: 2352 Affiliation: Georgian Federation Note(s):- Regina's primary industry is mining.
- Bowden's Malady, a degenerative disease affecting the bones and muscles, is common on Regina.
Alexandria S/2174(Regina)01 Rotational Period: 29.5 Days Surface Area: 3,725,681 km2 (9.8% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 80,000,000 Terraformed: 2352 Affiliation: Georgian Federation Note(s):Boros P/2027(Georgia)06 Orbital Distance: 1.475 AU Rotational Period: 1.79 Years Surface Area: 490,873,852 km2 (96.2% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 800,000,000 Terraformed: 2350 Affiliation: Georgian Federation Note(s):- Boros' development into a Border World was very much thanks to its moon Ares.
- For the most part, Boros is incredibly rural. The relatively large population primarily works the farms and prairies of the planet.
- Boros is home, however, to a burgeoning ship building industry in its few cities mirroring its moon, but other than this there is little heavy industry to speak of.
Ares S/2177(Boros)01 Rotational Period: 20.2 Days Surface Area: 10,452,003 km2 (27.6% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 1,000,000 Terraformed: 2350 Affiliation: Union of Allied Planets Note(s):- Ares was notable for having the largest military shipyards outside of the White Sun system. In recent years, however, the shipyards have scaled down but the military base remains active.

- Conrad's great population is not thanks to natural resources, heavy industry, commerce, or anything of that sort. Conrad is so very popular because the result of terraforming left it as an ideal world, a veritable garden. Conrad's climate is very mild and it has vast yet shallow oceans with many islands and beachfront property. As a result, it has become a popular tourist destination for those not seeking night life or fun but a relaxing beach. It is also a popular retirement destination for those seeking to live out the rest of their years in paradise.

- Hera was a leading planet for the Independents during the Unification War and it was the location of the last decisive land battle (and the bloodiest) of the war, the Battle of Serenity Valley.
- Hera shares an important place among Border Worlds. If Persephone is where one leaves the Core then Hera is typically where they go out to reach the rim. A great deal of trade and commerce are funneled between the two as the gateways between the two regions.

Their language and culture dominate even those of other ethnic backgrounds living there.
- Like their homeland back on Earth-That-Was, Anton tends to have a colder climate than most with arctic regions much closer to the equatorial belt than is typical.
Shadow S/2037(Murphy)02 Orbital Distance: 0.409 AU Rotational Period: 3.69 Years Surface Area: 378,268,895 km2 (74.2% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 500,000 Terraformed: 2404 Affiliation: Huang Long Union Note(s):- Shadow was a lively rural planet until the Alliance chose it as the target of an aggressive bombing campaign early in the Unification War. The complete annihilation of the planet failed to break the Independent resolve but rather only strengthened their cause and rallied more worlds and volunteers against the Alliance.
- Shadow and its moons became mostly barren rocks, the landscape scarred by war. Craters, impacts marks, crashed ships, and destroyed vehicles were common. The remnants of towns, villages, and farms littered the countryside, many of them deserted but just as many bombed, burned, or vaporized. From a population of hundreds of millions only a few thousand remained after the war. Many were killed while many more fled off world.
- In recent decades, Shadow has begun to come back to life but it is still marred by this past.

Red Sun Red Sun 34Tauri(2020)C Orbital Distance: 68 AU Rotational Period: 560.74 Years Size: 0.93 that of Sol Luminosity: 0.79 that of Sol Note(s):- Red Sun shares its orbit with Georgia, with each star occupying the L3 point of the other.
- Red Sun is the smallest system primary of all the five primary stars.
- Red Sun is also the least bright of all the primary stars and the coldest of the five (all relative of course, it's still a freaking star).
Jiangyin P/2027(Red Sun)03 Orbital Distance: 0.525 AU Rotational Period: 0.38 Years Surface Area: 616,368,066 km2 (121% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 2,500,000,000 Terraformed: 2280 Affiliation: Independent Note(s):- Jiangyin is the capital of the Red Sun System and is classified as a Border World for good reason.
- Jiangyin is the second largest terrestrial planet in the Red Sun system and by far the most populous. Including moons, it is home to 53% of the system's population.
- All that being said, Jiangyin is still very rural. It's just that nearly the entire planet has been colonized with a large but dispersed population rather than having small concentrations in a handful of cities and the surrounding countryside.
- Some pockets of the most rural parts of Jiagnyin have extreme superstitions, are devoutly religious, and/or are known to kidnap skilled tradesmen visiting their planet.
Tongyi S/2176(Jiangyin)01 Rotational Period: 9.1 Days Surface Area: 10,099,746 km2 (26.6% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 200,000,000 Terraformed: 2280 Affiliation: Jiangyin Note(s):- Excluding those of gas giants, Tongyi is the most populous moon in the 'Verse, even more impressive considering it is of average to small size.
Dangun S/2176(Jiangyin)02 Rotational Period: 18.3 Days Surface Area: 3,961,954 km2 (10.4% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 100,000,000 Terraformed: 2280 Affiliation: Jiangyin Note(s):Rhilidore S/2176(Jiangyin)03 Rotational Period: 28.7 Days Surface Area: 4,212,763 km2 (11.1% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 50,000,000 Terraformed: 2280 Affiliation: Jiangyin Note(s):New Melbourne P/2029(Red Sun)07 Orbital Distance: 2.025 AU Rotational Period: 2.88 Years Surface Area: 296,385,293 km2 (58.1% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 120,000,000 Terraformed: 2280 Affiliation: Commonwealth of Nations Note(s):- New Melbourne society is largely tied to the ocean. Most inhabitants live along the coast and fishing is the chief industry of the world.

Note(s):- Motherlode is the "medium" asteroid belt in the 'Verse with an average belt thickness and total number of objects falling between Halo and Uroborus.
- Motherlode is, however, the belt which orbits closest to its primary.
- As the name implies, Motherlode is less the obstacle/shield that Halo is considered and is instead a large part of the Red Sun System's economy. Many of the larger asteroids support mining operations from the Blue Sun Corporation, the Colonial Mining Corporation, or others smaller corporations or even tiny independent prospectors. Many other asteroids have small settlements, spaceports, junkyards, etc.
Greenleaf P/2028(Red Sun)05 Orbital Distance: 6.9 AU Rotational Period: 18.12 Years Surface Area: 160,112,278 km2 (31.4% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 350,000,000 Terraformed: 2281 Affiliation: Independent Note(s):- Greenleaf is the third most populous planet in the Red Sun system.
- Greenleaf has an unusually large tropical belt around it's equator leading to most of the world being dense jungle and forest. With the exception of deep woodsmen, most inhabitants live in cities and other settlements built in clearings or they work "farms" in the woods and jungles surrounding these settlements.
- The general climate of Greenleaf has made it the perfect location to raise more tropical plants, namely those with unique medicinal properties. Thus, other than basic subsistence farming, Greenleaf farmers generally only grow these plants. In turn, most of the urban population (those not involved in the service industry) work in the pharmaceutical industry to refine these plants and produce various drugs.
Dyton S/2172(Greenleaf)01 Rotational Period: 8.4 Days Surface Area: 3,397,947 km2 (9.0% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 8,000,000 Terraformed: 2281 Affiliation: Greenleaf Note(s):- Dyton is a colony primarily of British settlers with many inhabitants speaking with the distinct cockney accent.
Agyar S/2172(Greenleaf)02 Rotational Period: 14.5 Days Surface Area: 8,022,384 km2 (21.2% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 3,500,000 Terraformed: 2281 Affiliation: Greenleaf Note(s):Bryson's Rock S/2172(Greenleaf)03 Rotational Period: 25.9 Days Surface Area: 7,773,334 km2 (20.5% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 2,500,000 Terraformed: 2281 Affiliation: Greenleaf Note(s):Harvest P/2030(Red Sun)08 Orbital Distance: 8.4 AU Rotational Period: 24.35 Years Surface Area: 1,016,067,267 km2 (199% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 150,000,000 Terraformed: 2251 Affiliation: Red Pact Note(s):- Harvest is the second largest terraformed terrestrial world, surpassed just barely by Londinium.
- Harvest was the first world outside of the White Sun System to be terraformed.
- Harvest is known as the "breadbasket" of the 'Verse producing foodstuffs primarily for the more industrial Core worlds. Except for a few hubs to transport the goods offworld, nearly the entire population is dispersed across the very large and incredibly fertile land.
Farraday S/2174(Harvest)01 Rotational Period: 20.8 Days Surface Area: 14,630,284 km2 (38.6% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 700,000 Terraformed: 2251 Affiliation: Red Pact Note(s):Higgins' Moon S/2178(Harvest)02 Rotational Period: 48.0 Days Surface Area: 40,489,160 km2 (106.8% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 2,000,000 Terraformed: 2251 Affiliation: Red Pact Note(s):- Higgins' Moon is a fairly large satellite that is named for the ruling Higgins family who have ruled as the magistrates of many generations in a semi-monarchical fashion.
- Compared to its primary, Harvest, Higgins' Moon is lacking when it comes to natural resources. The soil is not particularly fertile and there are no significant veins of ore worth mining. The moon also lacks enough importance to attract the capital to industrialize or commercialize. However, Higgins' Moon has prospered by unconventional means. The inhabitants have turned what they do have, dirt, into profit. The
main only export is clay and mud which is sold across the 'Verse. - Higgins' Moon has an uncommonly high number of indentured servants. They make up the vast majority of the mudders, the workforce working the clay pits.
Saint Albans P/2027(Red Sun)04 Orbital Distance: 10.65 AU Rotational Period: 34.76 Years Surface Area: 490,873,852 km2 (96.2% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 40,000,000 Terraformed: 2290 Affiliation: Independent Note(s):- St. Albans is what some would call the result of poor terraforming. Although the world is still habitable, it suffers considerably colder temperatures than normal (the equatorial belt being the only place where you actually have "seasons") and is also unusually mountainous.
- St. Albans' soils is fertile when it's not on the side of a mountain or covered in three feet of snow.
- St. Albans is, however, one of the richest worlds for base ores such as iron, coal, zinc, lead, copper, etc., an industry which employs the majority of the planet's forty million inhabitants.
Pi Gu S/2172(St. Albans)01 Rotational Period: 5.6 Days Surface Area: 6,061,141 km2 (16.0% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 5,000,000 Terraformed: 2290 Affiliation: Independent Note(s):Anson's World P/2028(Red Sun)06 Orbital Distance: 11.4 AU Rotational Period: 38.49 Years Surface Area: 598,458,333 km2 (117.3% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 175,000,000 Terraformed: 2290 Affiliation: Red Pact Note(s):- Named for the influential British admiral and explorer of 18th Century Earth-That-Was.

- The people of Triumph are mostly pacifists who shun modern technology much like the Amish of Earth-That-Was. They have "escaped" modern life and sought refuge here.

It is a center for entertainment and art of all kinds.
- Paquin is also the petty crime capital of the Border and Rim worlds. It may not have the huge turf wars seen on other planets, but you're more likely to have your pocket picked or your cash conned here than anywhere else in the 'Verse.
- Paquin is also known as the "gypsy" planet due to the culture of many of the natives (perhaps contributing to both the culture and crime the planet is known for).

Terraforming began on Ita five years before it was scheduled to begin here. Due to that failure in Kalidasa, this project was put on indefinite hold shortly after starting and has been in a barely terraformed state for over a century.
- The moon's partial terraforming managed to sustain suitable gravity and a very thin atmosphere, but in all other respects it is still a barren "moonscape" and prolonged exposure to Port Chester's thin air is not advised.
- Perhaps as a result of the incomplete terraforming, Port Chester has the lowest gravity of any inhabited world in the 'Verse at .9501, just barely within the acceptable range of the terraforming process.
- Port Chester is home only to a corporate mining operation.

Zephyr leads Angel around Kalidasa, sitting in Angel's L4 position.
- Angel's capital city is Discord, affectionately called "Dis" by the locals.
Zephyr P/2165(Kalidasa)18 Orbital Distance: 4.6 AU Rotational Period: 9.87 Years Surface Area: 108,249,544 km2 (21.2% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 32,000,000 Terraformed: 2410 Affiliation: Commonwealth of Nations Note(s):- Zephyr shares its orbit with Angel and is NOT Angel's moon. Angel follows Zephyr around Kalidasa, sitting in Zephyr's L5 position
- Zephyr was originally classified as Angel's moon and remained mislabeled as such on some charts until as late as 2519, many years after the original mistake had been noticed and a century after humans had settled there.
- Before being reclassified, Zephyr was incorrectly known as the largest moon in the 'Verse. Now it is relegated to being a small astronomical oddity of a planet.

Skardu is also the most Earth's-moon-like moon in the 'Verse in terms of size thus making New Kasmir and its moon the closet approximation to Earth-That-Was from a purely astronomical size perspective.
Skardu S/2170(New Kasmir)01 Rotational Period: 19.1 Days Surface Area: 36,316,811 km2 (95.8% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 14,000,000 Terraformed: 2410 Affiliation: Xuan Wu Empire Note(s):- Skardu is closer in size to Earth's moon than any other in the 'Verse.
Whittier P/2030(Kalidasa)15 Orbital Distance: 5.725 AU Rotational Period: 13.7 Years Surface Area: 413,166,633 km2 (81.0% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 62,000,000 Terraformed: 2410 Affiliation: Xuan Wu Empire Note(s):- Starting from Delphi and ending with Whittier, the four sets of orbits are oddly equally distant from the next in the sequence at 0.375 AU apart.
- Whittier is known for a niche fish industry. This is not the mass fishing of New Melbourne or Newhall but the cultivation of exotic fish both as pets and for consumption as delicacies.
Ita S/2176(Whittier)01 Rotational Period: 68.8 Days Surface Area: 2,544,360 km2 (6.7% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 30,000 Terraformed: Ongoing Affiliation: Independent Note(s):- Ita is the smallest body in the 'Verse to undergo the terraforming process and there is a reason why it still holds that record to this day, well over 100 years after the process started. In short, terraforming failed on Ita due to its small size and has led to a prohibition on terraforming smaller moons and even large asteroids until the problem has been sorted.
- In the 100 years since, Ita has become a test bed for experimental terraforming techniques although the process has still failed to yield major results for tiny Ita.
- In 2470, Ita was chosen as a location for a minor Alliance orbital dry-dock facility. However over the years the Ita facility has become little more than a holding facility and scrap yard. “Towed to Ita” has become a euphemism for permanent impound on the tiny moon. The Alliance operated a dry dock there alongside a small civilian used spaceship business. Most ships leave Ita in pieces or more likely never leave at all.
- Ita differs from other "scrape worlds" in several ways: 1) Ita handled all Alliance impounds back in the day and still deals solely with space ships, not regular scrap and trash. 2) Ita is not fully terraformed making operations on the surface a bit more difficult than on an actually terraformed scrap world. 3) Many of the salvaging operations occuring in orbit either at specific yards or at the L4 and L5 points of the moon where ship hulks are sometimes discarded.
- With the departure of the Alliance, Ita has taken on an odd form of independence since it has no truly permanent population of colonists.

Beylix S/2040(Penglai)01 Orbital Distance: 0.225 AU Rotational Period: 2.02 Years Surface Area: 333,291,565 km2 (65.3% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 45,000,000 Terraformed: 2425 Affiliation: Penglai Entente Note(s):- Beylix is a typical world of the Rim with the majority of the world dedicated to agriculture. But that's the boring part of Beylix. A smaller percentage of the world has been turned into a garbage dump taking in waste and refuse from across the 'Verse from compost material to old starships and it is this face of Beylix which is most well known around the 'Verse.
- Beylix has an ever growing recycling industry building off of the garbage dumps. Although sometimes one has to literally dig through tons of waste to find a hidden gem, Beylix is a great place to purchase secondhand or refurbished goods.
- Astronomically, Beylix is unique as being a terrestrial world with a visible (and fairly thick) ring of space particles orbiting it.
- Politically, Beylix is notable as the world which sparked the downfall of Alliance hegemony in 2520.

Newhall inhabitants either live on what land there is (just under 10% of the surface is still land) or on floating structures out in the oceans.
- As might be expected, Newhall has a strong fishing industry and also has a healthy tourist trade for those coming to see the great oceans.
- Newhall's primary industry, however, is the water itself. Some worlds produce food to be shipped off-world while Newhall produces water. This ranges from bottled water to water for industrial purposes and often large amounts of water for terraforming purposes.

The target world, "Pacifica", had twice the mass of Londinium and Harvest (thus four times that of Earth-That-Was) and was thus an incredibly attractive prospect for humanity's expansion. Pacifica, however, was too big and is the reason why terraforming has been capped to worlds smaller than Londinium lest another Pacifica happen.
- Due to its great mass, the terraforming process implemented a prototype gravitational dampening field which likely failed during the final months of the process. Great seismic disruptions then likely tore the planet apart. All of this, however, is merely speculation as all terraforming crews (30,000+ personnel across both Pacifica and its five moons) were killed and all recent recordings of the terraforming process were lost.
- Six Sigma is the name of the asteroid field where Pacifica once orbited Penglai. It has spread to cover 1/3 of Pacifica's orbit (120 degrees) and is expected to continue to stretch over the next 1000 years until a full belt is formed.
- Six Sigma is a major navigational hazard as well as a terrible lesson in the history of terraforming.
Lear S/2207(Six Sigma)05 Rotational Period: 2.57 Years Surface Area: 2,962,022 km2 (7.8% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 280,000 Terraformed: 2320 Affiliation: Independent Note(s):- Lear is by far the longest terraformed world in the Kalidasa System, older even than any in the Georgia System. Of course this is no thanks to Lear itself but the planet it formerly orbited being seen as an incredible terraforming prospect.
- Lear was the only "survivor" of the Six Sigma disaster, the closer four moons of Pacifica also being destroyed).
- Lear's location within the Six Sigma debris field makes it prone to frequent meteoric impacts. Over the years, it has cleared most of the larger objects from its path, but it is still frequently bombarded by smaller objects. This makes life on the surface dangerous and has also made the terraformed world still look very moonscape-like covered in craters though there is still some vegetation about.
- Due to Lear's unique circumstances, the vast majority of the moon's small population lives in subterranean complexes, protected from the meteoric impacts.
- Lear's main industry revolves around the refining of the dust particles filtered through its atmospheric processing center which are incredibly mineral rich, remains from the planet formerly known as Pacifica.

Although an independent world, Beaumonde is one of the Big Four powers in the system.
- Beaumonde is the youngest major colony in the system (the last of the first round of terraforming, although several others were finished in a more recent second round).
- Like most Border Worlds, Beaumonde is a hub of both inter and intra system trade. However, Beaumonde is also a major industrial hub. The planet has very little agricultural production with factories rather than fields radiating from its cities.

However, as the Alliance retreated, distant Lennox was no longer a tenable position. The military base was abandoned and plans for terraforming were soon cancelled.
- Since then, however, the science outpost has remained manned by the Blue Sun Corporation.

Blue Sun Blue Sun 34Tauri(2020)E Orbital Distance: 180 AU Rotational Period: 2,414.95 Years Size: 1.4 that of Sol Luminosity: 6 times that of Sol Note(s):- Blue Sun is the second largest and second brightest star in the 'Verse, second only to White Sun.
- Blue Sun also has the most distant orbit and has the longest rotational period in the 'Verse.

- Meridian is also the unofficial capital of the Blue Sun Corporation.
Burnet S/2179(Meridian)01 Rotational Period: 213 Days Surface Area: 3,166,776 km2 (8.4% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 1,500,000 Terraformed: 2430 Affiliation: Blue Sun Corporation Note(s):New Canaan P/2027(Blue Sun)04 Orbital Distance: 2.025 AU Rotational Period: 2.88 Years Surface Area: 324,995,376 km2 (64.7% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 500,000 Terraformed: Ongoing Affiliation: Blue Sun Corporation Note(s):- New Canaan is another example of terraforming gone wrong. Much like Ita, the process has continued here for over a century now and is still not completed. However, unlike Ita, it is not the size of New Canaan which is posing a problem. The official report is that the planet merely has unusual tectonic processes, something no one could have forseen, but the commonly believed rumor is that the failure at New Canaan is solely due to sloppy work and preventable mistakes during the early period of the terraforming process.
- Efforts are still ongoing to "fix" New Canaan but many settlers still call this volatile world their home despite its unfinished nature.
- Many areas of New Canaan are seismically unstable with frequent earthquakes. Many other areas have violent volcanic eruptions, benign lava flows and lava pools, or merely fields of heat vents or toxic gas. This has thus greatly limited the area of New Canaan that is both habitable and safe leading to clustered settlements often completely surrounded by inhospitable obstacles.
- Although there is some wildlife and vegetation on New Canaan, the planet never reached the "seeding" phase so even if these plants and animals could survive they were never introduced in wide numbers. Any wild animals have merely escaped from settlements and wild growing vegetation has likewise been carried on the wind from simple backyard gardens.
- New Canaan is one of two terrestrial worlds with planetary rings (the other being Beylix).

- In years past, Lilac has been the target of raids and Blue Sun has increased private security as a result.
- Lilac is a much dryer and arid land than most, with water for crops being the most valuable and sought after resource. It is affectionately nicknamed "ri shao gou shi bing" (pile of sun-baked dog poop).

Note(s):- Uroborus is the thinnest asteroid belt in the 'Verse. It has the fewer objects within it and is also much less dense than Motherlode or Halo.
Highgate P/2029(Blue Sun)05 Orbital Distance: 9.15 AU Rotational Period: 27.68 Years Surface Area: 336,535,259 km2 (66.0% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 5,000,000 Terraformed: 2435 Affiliation: Blue Sun Corporation Note(s):Stonewall S/2200(Highgate)02 Rotational Period: 1.0 Days Surface Area: 3,870,756 km2 (10.2% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 750,000 Terraformed: 2435 Affiliation: Blue Sun Corporation Note(s):- Stonewall (and Highgate) are home to the only "beanstalk" in the 'Verse, a planet-to-moon space elevator pioneered by the Blue Sun Corporation. One can "take the train" from Highgate to Stonewall.
- Several factors (not the least of which is brute force and tons of money) contributed to make this possible, but one of the biggest was simply the short distance between the two. 29,179 km of enclosed beanstalk seems like a tremendous distance but it is actually short for most moons (only 7.6% the distance the Moon is from Earth-That-Was).
- The creation of the "beanstalk" has basically attached Stonewall to Highgate. The moon no longer rotates and its orbit is fixed to merely swing around its primary attached on the tether.
Perth S/2164(Highgate)01 Rotational Period: 15.83 Days Surface Area: 6,157,522 km2 (16.2% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 500,000 Terraformed: 2435 Affiliation: Blue Sun Corporation Note(s):Dragon's Egg P/2020Blue Sun03 Orbital Distance: 11.775 AU Rotational Period: 40.41 Years Diameter: 186,300 km Diameter (133% that of Jupiter) Population: N/A Terraformed: N/A Note(s):- Dragon's Egg is one of the larger gas giants in the 'Verse but is dwarfed by nearby Fury.

Yudhishtira S/2165(Dragon's Egg)01 Rotational Period: 84.6 Days Surface Area: 9,489,633 km2 (25.0% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 500,000 Terraformed: 2420 Affiliation: Independent Note(s):Bhima S/2165(Dragon's Egg)02 Rotational Period: 95.6 Days Surface Area: 4,227,327 km2 (11.1% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 100,000 Terraformed: 2420 Affiliation: Independent Note(s):Nakula S/2165(Dragon's Egg)03 Rotational Period: 109.2 Days Surface Area: 3,066,647 km2 (8.1% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 125,000 Terraformed: 2420 Affiliation: Independent Note(s):Sahadeva S/2165(Dragon's Egg)04 Rotational Period: 122.9 Days Surface Area: 6,087,351 km2 (16.1% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 20,000 Terraformed: 2420 Affiliation: Independent Note(s):Glynis S/2165(Dragon's Egg)05 Rotational Period: 136.5 Days Surface Area: 3,079,075 km2 (8.1% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 5,000 Terraformed: 2420 Affiliation: Independent Note(s):- Glynis is unusually sparsely populated, even for the Blue Sun System. It has been terraformed for a century and a half now and has fewer people living on it than it had while being terraformed.
Deadwood P/2030(Blue Sun)06 Orbital Distance: 14.025 AU Rotational Period: 52.52 Years Surface Area: 309,776,429 km2 (60.7% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 3,000,000 Terraformed: 2400 Affiliation: Independent Note(s):- Deadwood is notably "old" as far as Blue Sun system terraforming works go. With 120 years since colonization, Deadwood and its moons were the first in the system to be terraformed. What's interesting, however, is that Deadwood was actually terraformed even before any planets in the closer Kalidasa System.
Haven S/2164(Deadwood)01 Rotational Period: 13.1 Days Surface Area: 28,500,981 km2 (75.2% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 125,000 Terraformed: 2400 Affiliation: Independent Note(s):- Populated only sparsely, Haven is a fiercely independent mining moon. Rumors abound as to just how rich a vein they are sitting on, but the colonists take security very seriously and tend to keep all government and corporate types out.
New Omaha S/2164(Deadwood)02 Rotational Period: 26.2 Days Surface Area: 3,300,636 km2 (8.7% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 80,000 Terraformed: 2400 Affiliation: Independent Note(s):Shenzhou P/2033(Blue Sun)09 Orbital Distance: 14.4 AU Rotational Period: 54.64 Years Surface Area: 441,895,166 km2 (86.6% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: 400,000 Terraformed: 2502 Affiliation: Independent Note(s): Tiangong S/2179(Shenzhou)01 Rotational Period: 30.0 Days Surface Area: 28,652,582 km2 (75.6% that of Earth's Moon) Population: 40,000 Terraformed: 2502 Affiliation: Shenzhou Note(s):Burnham P2020(Blue Sun)01 Orbital Distance: 23 AU Rotational Period: 110.3 Years Size: .30 that of Sol Helioformed: 2253 Note(s):- Burnham is the smallest heliformed star in the entire 'Verse.
- Burnham is also the first star ever heliformed in the 'Verse. Its distant location was chosen as the safest place to test the experimental process. It was a wise choice for although the process was eventually successful, the entire Blue Sun System was at risk for a century as the new-formed star discharged dangerous bursts of radiation.
- Even after stabilizing, it would be nearly an entire century before Burnham was actually "used" as a star rather than merely a test laboratory.
- The entire region around Burnham is Reaver Territory. Enter at your own peril.
Miranda S/2038(Burnham)01 Orbital Distance: 0.379 AU Rotational Period: 3.41 Years Surface Area: 381,724,019 km2 (74.8% that of Earth-That-Was) Population: Unknown, Assumed to be at least 5000. Terraformed: 2433 Affiliation: Reaver Note(s):- Although terraformed in 2433, it was not until about 2500 that colonization was fully opened for the distant planet. In one large wave of settlement, the Alliance established a 30 million person colony and simultaneously began to experiment with the PAX. By 2506, just before the Unification War broke out, this experimentation reached its zenith with the destruction of the colony. The vast majority of the settlers died while a small minority were transformed into what would become known as Reavers.
- Miranda sits in the furthest orbit of the Blue Sun System and thus (At times at least) is the most distant world from the core of the 'Verse.
- Miranda and moon Caliban draw their names from the Shakespeare play "The Tempest."
Caliban S/2180(Miranda)01 Rotational Period: 6.8 Days Surface Area: 26,603,321 km2 (70.2% that of Earth's Moon) Population: Unknown Terraformed: N/A Affiliation: Reaver Note(s):- Even less is known about Caliban than Miranda. All records indicate it as being an uninteresting and unterraformed rock, however, rumors are circulating that Caliban is something more. They say that since the Signal, the Alliance or Blue Sun or someone else has established a base on the moon. Some claim they are also terraforming it. Depending on whom you ask, the possible goals of such an expedition vary. More likely it is merely the Reavers who occupy that entire region of space.
