Jericho Adele Montgomery
When violet eyes get brighter
And heavy wings grow lighter
I'll taste the sky and feel alive again
And I'll forget the world that I knew
But I swear I won't forget you
Oh if my voice could reach back through the past
I'd whisper in your ear:
"Oh darling, I wish you were here"

Overall Personality - Jeri is a sweet hearted gal. She's the epitome of a Southern Belle with the accent to boot. She's quick to take sympathy on folks and forgives rather easily. Except in the case of the Alliance. Having an ex-Browncoat for an uncle and a deceased Browncoat father does that to you. And once you've found out that they slaughtered most of your family in cold blood it becomes even more difficult. Jeri does have a bit of a bratty streak in her and on occasion she will throw a tantrum when things don't go her way. One of the many reasons she is often seen as everyone's kid sister. She has a soft spot for ex-soldiers and "broken" men in general. Always hoping she can help comfort them, usually with pie.
She has a severe love for animals of every nature and was once determined to be a veterinarian. But it was around the time she met her uncle that he showed her how to fly. From there she was sold to the sky.
So it's simple. Baking, animals, and flying. She's not so complicated.

Kyle Montgomery, cousin.

Your History - Jericho Adele Montgomery was born on Hera to Adele Brant-Montgomery and the second born Montgomery brother; Jonas. For 6 beautiful years she was raised on the Montgomery farm, learning how to take care of the land and animals while on occasion making trips to Paquin with her mother to manage their family's restaurant. Life was wonderful, and growing up with her cousins was even better. That year was wonderful, honestly, save for the end of it. Her sixth year of life was the first year Harper took her flying, noticing her constant studying of the ships that would fly overhead. Her instant affinity made him proud and had he been her father he'd have known she were his. However this was his younger brother's child, so it only made him smile that she would be like him.
Causing Jonas all kinds of Hell.
But sadly this was the same year that her uncle and beloved father left to join the Browncoats. She didn't know that day that it'd be the last time she saw her father alive. Or the last time she'd see Harper smile. Upon the departure of Harper and Jonas her mother moved them to Paquin. The Brant family restaurant had begun to pick up business and actually had skyrocket sales. They were by no means rich, but they weren't struggling half as bad any longer. Her mother made sure to send money to the family every check. It seemed forever for anything to come back from the war. They received a letter from her Aunt Elyse that Harper and Jonas had come home for a short time, a day or so and that on his next leave Jonas would request he be parked on Paquin. She also relayed that he missed them dearly, and he couldn't wait to see them.
Yet that damn war went on for five years, and wouldn't you know it her daddy had to go and get himself killed in the last battle. They delivered his broken body to the eleven year old girl and her now widowed mother, and the heavens wept for their loss. They made the trek back home to bury him in the Montgomery plot with his ma and pa, but their arrival was met with more terrifying news. Men were walking towards their departures while mentioning the Montgomery boys and their tragic tale. Saying that their Major's family was slaughtered by the Alliance in cold blood... That they had raped his wife while his children watched. Horrifying stories.
Reaching their plot of land was only confirmation of the horrid stories they'd heard. They had missed Harper by mere hours and everything was ruined, burnt to the ground. He had buried his youngest brother, his wife, and his two children.... but his sister had no grave. Had she survived? Jeri wondered, but Harper never found them to confirm. They put Jonas in the ground and suddenly Jeri had to grow up a little bit more. Daddy wasn't there to hold her hand and Uncle Harper certainly wasn't.
With no standing buildings on the Montgomery land they returned to Paquin, once again missing Harper. Her mother dove headfirst into the family restaurant to hide her mourning, teaching young Jeri how to bake and cook so that when the time came she could take over if she so chose. Jeri, of course, only wanted to be free of that place and all its memories. Yet year after year she was stuck in that kitchen until she grew to appreciate cooking and baking, finding it relaxing. Much like when Uncle Harper would take her flying. The constant hum of the machinery around you when piloting was simply heaven.
Paquin is known as the Black Mamba's planet. The drug queen of those parts owned everything, but that didn't stop small time gangs to try and come in for a piece of the action. Jeri didn't rightly enjoy their threatening tone with her mother and upon one of their raids got herself into a mess of trouble. Jeri actually shot. and killed, one of their members. They didn't like that very much, but when they were robbing the store and trying to beat on her mother what else could she have done. Immediately that small time gang became a problem. They were constantly harassed and rumor had it that Jeri had a hit out on her head. On top of that, posters of Harper were beginning to pop up with the promise of a reward.
Her mother urged Jeri to get a hold of him somehow. Obviously Harper was doing well at keeping himself out of someone's grasp. He could help her. So Jeri did whatever she could to get information on him from anyone who might have had ties with him. And wouldn't you know it a distant cousin of theirs was the one to send her on the right track. Kyle, their third cousin twice removed, was actually working for the same man Harper was... in a sense, and he had a way of getting a hold of him. With his help, and a little luck, Harper was zipping off to pick her up. He hadn't even known that they were still among the living and while he didn't smile once she did catch him wiping away a tear.
Now she waits in the wings while he calls in a few favors to find her a more stable environment as well as a decent paying job. All the while Miss Jericho Montgomery bakes pies to give to her would-be-crewmates.

Roleplay Example - Jericho tossed and turned in her borrowed bed. It wasn't the same. It was far too lumpy, hard in places, with scratchy blankets and a pillow that felt like a carcass. Not comfortable. Or at least that's what her brain kept telling her, but then again in her sleep she continued to dream of her father. She could still remember them handing her mother his coat, neatly folding it as if he'd ever wear it again. She could still hear the heart wrenching sobs that erupted from her beloved mother like a fountain. Everyone always makes war seem so glorified, so noble. But when they put her father in the family plot amidst the ruins of a burnt home she couldn't understand why.
War wasn't glorious, or noble. Just painful. Dead. And as she said goodbye to the father she only got to know for six years her heart broke, wishing that it had been her Uncle. Even now, sleeping in a bed Harper had provided to her she wished it had been him. And it killed her to know that she felt that way towards the man that had shown her the beauty of flying...
But he wasn't her father.
Jericho finally flung herself out of bed, quietly slipping on her bunny slippers and made her way towards the kitchen. When doubt and depression gripped her it was time to bake. She was thankful, then, that her mother had sent her with some of their personal supplies. Lord knew the crew of this particular vessel would appreciate the fresh food. She threw on an apron over her shorts and t-shirt, and lightly pulled her hair into a braid that hung over her shoulder. And then she got to work.
The young woman toiled over mixes and hummed to herself as she lined pie crusts with fruits. By the time she was finished she knew the crew would be waking soon. She lightly set out the three cakes and four pies and began on making breakfast. If she was going to be here she might as well be useful. Jeri didn't take any free meal tickets.
She glanced over her shoulder as the captain groggily made his way in, sniffing the air in what looked like disbelief.
"Mornin' sug. Well ain'tchoo look'n as tired as an owl in summer."
