Peerless's Medical Bay is actually a bit larger and more complex than most ships in that there are actually three rooms. The main room is what you'd typically expect with an examination/operating table, cabinets with all sorts of medical supplies, and a small desk area for the resident medic. The infirmary also has a sizable closet to store and secure medical supplies. Don't go messing with anything unless you want an angry medic chasing you.
Finally, medical has an attached recovery room. Any patients that have been treated but not released by the medic will find a cot in here where they can still be watched and treated if needed but aren't laying out on the operating table for ages. In the event of an emergency with multiple casualties, this is where spillover wounded would wait to be treated. During the other 99.9% of the time, this room will remain largely unused except perhaps for extra storage.
