The Peerless cargo bay is a deck unto itself capable of lowering out of the body of the Peerless and down to ground level when landed. The forward section of the bay is a large blast door/ramp allowing access on and off the ship.
Naturally, when a great quantity of cargo needs to be transported or stored for whatever reason, this is where it will be placed. However, since the Peerless is a mercenary ship such circumstances are few and far between. Thus, the cargo bay serves instead as a front door, a garage and workshop for the ship's land vehicles, a gym with weights and some sports equipment, and a fully functioning shooting range.
