Triumph is a tiny, more the size of a large moon.  Out on the edge of the Red Sun system, it has become a beacon to those dissatisfied with modern technology and culture.  For the past two hundred years, the settlers of Triumph live as if it were still the 18th century on Earth-that-Was shunning all modern technology but a few bare essentials required to do business with the outside world.  Life is harder without modern conveniences but even so, the lifestyle offers a certain appeal that regularly attracts a handful of off-worlders.

Settlers of Triumph have very "traditional" views and customs, sometimes perhaps what might be considered backwards.  Some communities practice arranged marriages and the dominance of a husband over his entire household is common.  In addition to shunning technology, architecture and dress tend to be very plain and conservative as well.  The people of Triumph are also deeply religious and often absolute pacifists.

The planet itself is fairly typical, mostly notable for the uniqueness of its residents.  For a few years, Triumph was a member of the Red Pact though its membership was limited due to the planet's isolationism, small economy, nonexistent government administration, and pacifist population.
