Boros is the third planet of the Georgia system and a member of the defensive Georgian Federation.  Notably, Boros's moon Ares is one of the few remaining Alliance holdings outside of the Core.  It was and still remains a military base and shipyard restricted to Alliance personnel.  The moon itself is a veritable fortress and the lack of any civilian population combines to make any motivation to "liberate" it nearly non-existent.

The nearby Iskellkian military shipyards, however, spawned a civilian shipbuilding industry on Boros below, and other industries have spread off of that.  Boros is, however, still primarily an agrarian world despite these handful of strong industries in the urban centers.

Boros has become a leader of the Georgian Federation, and as the rest of the system has come to blows in the past, more and more Boros has become an unlikely hub on the shipping lanes.  In particular, a lot of Alliance trade flows through Boros both to supply Ares but also simply due to the comfort the nearby base provides them.
