GENERAL APPEARANCE
Sawyer is a man of strong jawline and sharp nose. He has been told in past he has the sort of face that encourages people to throw a punch, but that was certainly more in his younger years. Now, while he still cleans up pretty nicely, the medic is a little more grizzled. His sense of dress, his appearance, all point towards a man used to a rough and tumble life. Ups and downs etched in the odd scar or worn-in attire. Clothes are more utility, and has a tendency to own a lot of thick overshirts as opposed to anything fit for warmer weather. Like a man always expecting the cold, and making sure he doesn't have to suffer it.

OVERALL PERSONALITY
Sawyer is a man like any other in the 'Verse. The wild, unpredictable life of living outside the Core containing it's fair share of trials and tragedies. Someone like Sawyer has more than likely, when tallied up, lost more than he has gained, but the added bonus of living to tell the tale will almost always keep him going. Work is a good drive, the means to see how far he'll go and how long he'll last is another. Just the sheer stubbornness to make it despite the odds of the 'Verse around him. From loss he has long since learned that you take what you can get in this life, for as long as you can take it.
While he isn't one to lecture nor complain on acts of violence - he understands the necessity in this wild west of a universe - Sawyer himself isn't much for it. Hence his profession. He can still throw a good, decent punch, but it is almost entirely rare you might see him hold a gun - more than likely to beat someone unconscious with it than he is to shoot them. At best, he will be willing to wound, but as a medic that somewhat solidifies the idea he knows just how to disable a person, so as not to kill them.

BACKSTORY
Many words to be rogered go here. But not by Roger.
The earliest memories Sawyer can recall are fresh, saltwater air and the stench of fish. His family arrived some time before his conception, settling in New Melbourne's Henley Bay area for the purposes of a fresh start. A means to get out from under the hectic life in a densely-packed city on Londinium. So Sawyer initially grew up learning all there was about fishing, and preparing fish-related meals. Safe to say, it was easy to get sick of the sight and smell of marine life by the time he hit his teenage years. To this day, the more successful means the man has cooked for himself have had something to do with fish, so it wasn't like he could escape it entirely. The one notable thing about his childhood would have to be the fact he refuses to go near large bodies of water. During his time learning to swim, an incident occurred where a young Emmerich almost drowned - and as a result that trauma never left him. It forced him to take work, when he was old enough, further inland of the Bay, working deliveries and such for his father. Kristoph Sawyer was the sort of man it would take a lifetime to impress with anything, and naturally had nothing to be proud of with his only son. His daughter, Yvette, however, took to the new family business like - well - a fish to water, and became the burly man's pride and joy. Emmerich didn't mind it so much, considering whenever she was nearby, it kept his father off his back. Yvie was his closest friend - his confidant - outside any other friendships he might've made. She was his voice of reason and probably why he grew into a much more rational man.
Once he hit his twenties, Sawyer was desperate to get out of that Bay, away from the endless stretch of ocean and escape the smell that clung to his very skin.
