A social drinker, he opens up more in his drunken state but knows how to control his tongue from spilling secrets or opening up extensively. Whenever he is upset, Jin becomes very quiet and doesn't say much unless he reaches his breaking point when he loses control of his emotions and facade.
Jin's occupation often calls for him to be very heartless and ruthless, but nevertheless he cares deeply for those in his care and those he is loyal to. When betrayed by those he trusts, it his hard for him to break the emotional bond but puts up a front of indifference to keep his distance until he can break the ties fully. It takes much to cause Jin to snap, but when he does his moral and ethical registers seize up as he does everything in his power to hurt those that caused him to lose control.

Your History - Lei Caron was the lead engineer of Pasha Incorporated, a company contracted to design and construct the Alliance government's buildings on Ariel. Through this job, Lei had run into Samantha Leon a research assistant at the time for the Alliance government's Ministry of Defence's Research and Development team. After years of courting, Lei Caron proposed to Samantha, getting married in 2486. In 2487 Sakura Caron was born to the moderately wealthy family. Six years later, Hyun Jin Caron was born into the family in 2492, only a year before Samantha would be promoted to the Head Scientist of the Alliance Research and Rescue Division, Samantha's brainchild project that was to focus on mastering terraforming previously considered uninhabitable planets and working to create a utopian society to set as a standard of the core planets to reform to.
Hyun Jin Caron's childhood was very normal, going to a private academy in the heart of Nikita and spending most of his recreational time playing sports with the other children his age. But when Hyun Jin Caron was 8 years old, his mother's division had made a huge breakthrough in their research and was set to leave for an uninhabitable planet, Miranda, to test a new terraforming method. In 2502, Samantha Caron and her team of scientists, engineers, doctors and soldiers left for Miranda to test their new discovery in hopes of returning with good news for the Alliance government. During the travels, Samantha often contacted the Caron family on Ariel via a government ansible wavenet to tell them of her journey. A year into the Research and Rescue Division's project, all communications seized without any notice. The government at first considered this to be the effect of the peak solar winds during that year and held off on sending a search and rescue team to aid the team if they were in trouble.
A year after communication was last with Samantha's team, the Alliance finally sent a team to Miranda to determine what was wrong. When the Alliance search and rescue team returned to Ariel, they announced to the Caron family that Miranda's atmosphere did not take to the terraforming successfully and the team's ship had crashed onto the planet for unknown reasons. The Caron family was devastated by the loss of Samantha, Sakura taking the loss especially bad. Lei Caron fell into a deep state of depression at the loss of the love of his life and though Hyun Jin kept a facade up of being fine and staying strong for the family, he was just as broken up about the loss as the rest of the family. Not even a year after the tragedy, Sakura ran away from home, disappearing at Piper Docks off the planet.
At the age of 13, Hyun Jin, more often called 'Jin' by his family and friends at this point, began to attend the Ariel Alliance Naval Academy, planning on becoming a naval officer in hopes to protect those he loves and to possibly find his older sister during his travels among the planets. In 2507, the truth behind the Miranda incident was revealed by a group of outlaws who had gotten their hands on a recording from Miranda, revealing that the Alliance military had covered up what had truly happened at Miranda and to the Research and Rescue division. With this realization that the Alliance had lied to him, Jin took a leave of absence from the Naval Academy, secretly leaving Ariel for the border planets and enlisting with the Independent's Covert Operations Division to help dismantle the Alliance military by uncovering more secrets. Spend his year-long sabbatical from the Naval Academy training with the Independents, Jin was eventually given the codename Lionheart due to his unfaltering bravery during the most intensive training. At the end of the year, the Independents assigned Jin a mentor, handler and fellow undercover agent to him for communication purposes and to keep an eye on him in case he may decide to turn on them. His assigned mentor was Monica Selini, a Lieutenant of the Alliance Office of Naval Intelligence who had been trained as a child to become an Independent spy on Ariel.
Returning to the Naval Academy, with Lieutenant Selini's influence Jin was pushed into an accelerated program at the academy to be allowed to graduate at the age of 17 and was offered a position as an Ensign in the Office of Naval Intelligence, and the opportunity to be promoted straight to Lieutenant Junior Grade upon graduation from the Uhler Naval Intelligence Training program, also known as UNITPROG, which was designed to train ONI personnel in espionage. Jin spent two years in UNITPROG, excelling in all the subjects and being the most promising Ensign of his class. Upon graduation, Jin was promoted instantly to Lieutenant at the request of Selini, who was now a Commander and pulled him in as one of her direct subordinates. Jin spent three years under Commander Selini, working his way up to Lieutenant Commander as Selini was promoted herself to Captain. On his third year as an intelligence officer, Captain Selini turned on the Independents and gave away Jin's cover as a Independent spy, forcing him to escape Ariel into the outer planets.
Once in the outer planets, Jin attempted to reconnected with his assigned Independent covert cell only to discover that the cell had been apprehended by the Alliance Counterintelligence Team. With no contacts and no money, Jin spent two years on Persephone as an Enforcer for a local crime lord until he had enough money to purchase some of his own equipment and find a better calling. Unwilling to have Jin leave though the crime lord James Everlin threatened to have Jin killed if he left. Taking his chances Jin had run away from Everlin's grasp just barely, getting on a bounty hunter ship and leaving Persephone. Jin fell in line with the bounty hunters on the ship and became a hunter himself in hopes of finding a better life, uncovering why Bianca had turned him in, and to find out the whereabouts of his older sister. On the fourth year of travelling with the bounty hunter ship, the crew chased a target that had been too much for them as half the crew was killed, four fatally wounded with Jin being only slightly wounded at the end of the firefight that had ensued. Being too far away from any inhabited planet, the fatally wounded bounty hunters were unable to get the medical attention they required to live in time and left Jin alone on the ship.
Using the ship's autopilot to bring the ship to the nearest planet of Boros. Jin took up the role of a dying, lone survivor of a pirate attack to be given clearance to land the ship via autopilot on Boros. Immediately upon landing, Jin put one of his old comrade's dead body in the pilot seat and snuck out of the ship, giving the illusion at the pilot had died while the ship was landing. Once he was safely in the crowd of people, Jin found himself an inn and used the some of the money he had mustered up from the bounty hunter ship's crew and the dead pirate bodies to lodge until he was able to find a job.

Roleplay Example - There wasn't much Jin could really do at a time like this. Sure he was packing money, but at the time he didn't even exist on the planet and going around looking for a job would be hard to do with most of the port shut down until the bounty hunter ship he had arrived on was fully examined for any bombs or traps by the local authorities. Until then, he would just have to lay low and try to figure out what his next move would be. He was dead set on first finding his older sister, something he had put aside on doing because of his enlistment into the Independent military and the Alliance ONI. But now that he had the time and money, there was nothing stopping him from finding his sister and getting all the answer to his questions. He couldn't help but wonder how his father was doing back on Ariel now. It had been years since had seen his father, who had most likely heard from the Alliance government that Jin was a traitor. But would he believe them? After all he had seen about the Miranda Incident? Jin found it peculiar that his father did not seem as upset as himself when the truth was out in the open, but he had always believed it was just because his father knew that nothing would bring back Jin's mother. But now he wondered if there was another reason...
Before he could go more deeper into thought on the topic, Jin heard glass shattering behind him in the moderate sized bar that was on the first floor of the inn he was staying at. "You think you can just touch my girl and get away with it punk??" One man shouted as the girl, who apparently was the cause of the verbal dispute, was attempting to calm the two men down. "Well I just think that this girl could use a real man, not some fake punk!" Jin knew that that would be the last straw. The shouting intensified as one of the men threw a punch and decked the other man. Luckily the fight did not get any bigger as the two men did not have friends to join them in the tussle, but Jin knew that if this continued the police would show up and that would not be a good thing for him. Standing up and turning around, Jin looked at the two men who had exchanged a few heavy blows to each other's faces and held up a hand. "I don't mean to bother you two gentlemen, but do you truly think that fighting over this lady in this manner will resolve anything? If anything, it will end up with both of you behind bars and this young lady would have no one to protect her from those that may not be as chivalrous as you two." Using subtle praise and a hint of subordination, Jin was able to catch the two men off guard as they turned to face him. "Who the hell are you? And what do you think you know boy?" The one man took a step forward, preparing to attack Jin if provoked further. Taking a step back, Jin raised his hands to show that he did not want to fight. "I am simply saying that if you two are interested in competing for this lady's attention, I would find better means to do it than one that is most likely to end with both of you arrested for assault and endangerment of innocent lives."
The two men glowered as the both squared up on Jin and cracked their knuckles. "I guess we will do just that... After we pound your snobby face in!" The two men jumped at Jin with each of their right fists aimed for Jin's head. Ducking, Jin dodged the punches and grabbed one of each of the men's ankles and pulled to trip the two men onto their back. Due to their intoxication, it was hard for the two men to get up from such a trip and they simply laid on the ground, groaning in pain. Turning to the lady who had tried to stop the fight that had ultimately ensued, Jin bowed slightly and smiled at her. "I apologize for barging into personal affairs, I simply did not want to see anyone hurt. Now if you will excuse me madame." Turning around, Jin walked up to the bar and paid for a drink and sat back down on a stool as he relaxed, the adrenaline pumping in his veins causing his body to shudder subtly, as if to complain about the lack of action that was expected by his body. "Good days always start like this I suppose." Jin said as he chuckled to himself and took a sip of the beer on the counter in front of him.
