Alexis Marie Jennings
"I’m hell on heels and I’m coming for you."
------------------------------------------------------
Full Name - Alexis Marie Jennings
Nicknames/Alias - Lexie
Age - 26
Date of Birth - November 24
Gender - female
Sexual Orientation - heterosexual
Affiliation - Alliance
Occupation - Alliance Naval Lieutenant Junior Grade, Co-pilot/Gunner.
Play-By - Jessica Alba
Build - slender, built.
Height & Weight - 5’6”
Hair - brown, long, layered, messy waves.
Eyes - brown.
Unique Features - tattoo, single piercing in each ear.
Dressing Style - Like any other Alliance officer she wears a uniform. When off duty she favors fitting attire such as black skinny jeans or leather pants paired with a tight corset, her favorite is her dark blue with black lace, or she will wear a vest littered it studs and other such adornments, all topped off with high heeled boots or high heels. She has been known to have a splash of bright color here and there in her attire, but when off duty no matter what she is wearing makes her appealing. When relaxing and a bit more casual she is often seen in a loose fitting tank top or cap sleeve top and shorts or jeans that are sometimes a bit worn and holey from overuse along with high heels, ankle booties of some sort, or sandals. If the occasion calls for elegance Alexis will stun in a fancy dress that accentuates her figure and knockout high heels. For sleep, generally, she sleeps in the nude, but will wear an oversized t-shirt or lingerie sometimes.
Other - Standard issue equipment, whatever is in the armory she will happily use so long as it functions well. In addition she has a single revolver magnum weapon she keeps more as a reminder of how she came to be. She often carries around a booklet of matches in her pocket out of habit. Alexis speaks with a French accent. Her birthparents were French. Her birthfather Roux was French on his father’s side and Spanish and Italian on his mother’s side. Kathleen, her mother, and the woman who raised her is also French.
Likes - FLYING, singing, guns and ships, fighting, various forms of martial arts, boxing, things that go boom, fire, animals (big cats, dogs, and snakes are her favorite), nature/outdoors, lightning storms, hot weather/sunshine, fresh fruit, apple pie, good conversation, games, humor, dancing, flirting, sex, honor, loyalty, respect.
Dislikes - Goodbyes, being underestimated, being told what to do (usually by small minded politicians, she has a tiny problem with authority) or orders given to her that she disagrees with (she will obey them unless she absolutely cannot live with them morally speaking), lazy people, clingy people, or cowards, seeing others being physically or emotionally abused, being caged, abuse of power/higher ups that are disconnected with what is really going on with those they command, boring/stiff/humorless people that can’t take a joke.
Quirks/Habits - Whenever anyone sees her off duty she is almost always eating, usually fresh fruit. She can be inappropriate, and ballsy without batting an eyelash.
Fears - Claustrophobic, being buried alive, or caged in some small dark space.
Secrets - Her misgivings about the Alliance, not that she doesn’t believe in the Alliance whole heartedly and will give a beating to whoever speaks ill of the military, but there are things such as Miranda and the political bullshit that she doesn’t agree with, not that she will ever tell a living soul.
Strengths -
-Flying, she lives, eats and breaths it.
-Singing, she has a beautiful singing voice, not that she ever sings in front of people.
-hand-to-hand combat
-diligence/hardworking, knows when to button down when she needs to.
-her straightforwardness, being simultaneously understanding, even sympathetic or empathetic, and judgmental of you or your actions and bluntly pointing it out in the most embarrassing way possible (might also be seen as a weakness).
-playfulness, humor, laid-back, fairly easy-going and doesn’t take herself too seriously.
Weaknesses -
-Addictive/impulsive/reckless tendencies. She has this naïve notion that she is somehow invincible but will never put someone else’s life at risk, however has on numerous occasions but her own at risk to get the job done. Alexis always gets the job done, however unorthodox her methods may seem.
-Her passion/pride/ego can get in the way and cause trouble for her.
-She tends to stay almost too emotionally detached. No one would ever assume this to be the case given her extroverted persona but she likes to stay non-committal.
-Hates feeling trapped, small spaces frighten her. This also relates to her impatience and her drive from instinct. Somehow being in a cockpit doesn’t bother her though, to her being in a cockpit is like soaring in the widest most open space you can possibly be in out there in the Black.
-Can seem pushy, bossy, or tactless at times.
Talents/Special Abilities -
--Flying
She was made for it. The only thing she’s ever been really truly good at. With quick reflexes Alexis is a gifted pilot.
--Gambling
She has a great love of cards. This can be seen as a strength or a weakness. For the most part she is very lucky and this makes her unbridled confidence particularly annoying at a poker table, but like all addicts she doesn’t know when to stop.
--Seduction
She has made it an art form. Learning out of desperation and a need to manipulate, her talent may not be able to rival a Companion but she likes getting her way, and well, if she doesn’t she can always beat it out of you. It is often easier to talk her way out of a problem than rain everything with gunfire. Her skills in seduction, charm and con-artist prowess can come in handy when in tight or unwanted situations.
Aspirations - To give Alliance a good name again. To make peace, she really did admire the independence fervor and ‘never-say-die’ attitude which mirrors her own, not that she would express this opinion aloud.
Overall Personality - Alexis has that rare irresistible quality of confidence and charm. Not even most men possess as much charisma as flawlessly as she can. If she were a man she would be glorified for her forwardness and temptress ways. Alexis is 110% fun, you will never find her dull or yourself bored of whatever daring activity she decides to accomplish at that moment. There is something naturally flirtatious and sensual about her. She can turn practically any word, phrase, or thing into something dirty. It is fairly certain that anything she says can be construed as an innuendo.
Aside from her shameless come-ons and open promiscuity she is actually a straight-laced individual. It’s safe to say she is obsessed with nearly all forms of sex. She views it as something pleasurable and enjoys the high she gets from sex much like an adrenaline junkie enjoys an extreme sport. She has an addictive personality. Not only will you, whether you are a man or woman, straight or gay or something in between find her infections and intoxicating but she herself has an obsessive and compulsive personality, addictive tendencies towards vices. Knowing this she tries to make sex her only vice. She considers it a healthy one to have out of the numerous ones that could plague her. Lexie steers clear of smoking or drinking. Well, she has been known to enjoy a nice glass of red wine but tends to be wary of drinking in excess. She is passionate and impulsive. Being fiery she loves anything as explosive as she is, and enjoys anything that can go fast and give her that extra boost of adrenaline, anything legal that is.
Humorous, a playful jokester, and the life of any party isn’t all she is. When it comes to work Alexis is serious, straightforward and confident in her abilities. When the tough gets going she gets rough. Her inability to know when to say enough is enough also makes her the perfect soldier. She will never quit, give up or stop fighting until she’s dead. Even then she’ll probably come back and haunt you silly. Extremely diligent and persistent, she will never leave a person behind, and never likes to be told she can’t do something. It’s a good way to trick her into doing something she wouldn’t otherwise want to do such as cram herself into some small tight space for the sake of a mission.
Alexis is strong. Not only physically but emotionally. She can take a lot more that most would assume without breaking. Loyalty and honor are important to her. The friends she makes she keeps for life. For all her spontaneity she is steadfast in regards to those that matter to her, and takes her duty very seriously. Grudges are a thing of the past. Her temper is squelched almost as soon as it begins. Over the years she has learned that carrying around that much anger in her will destroy her, and besides those that have hurt her in her past aren’t worth the energy or her time. Even though she has somewhat of a temper she can hold herself back when she needs to display such admirable qualities, a hot-headed fire-cracker isn’t leadership quality, and she does strive to be ambitious.
Love is a complicated, often unkind and dark mistress for Alexis. The closest she has ever come to truly loving someone has been to trust them. Her love affairs are generally always messy and hot. The way they start is often the way they end, except instead of fireworks it’s like an explosion. For her love never comes in a neatly wrapped package with a ribbon tied to it, her form of love will never be the romantic or sappy version one thinks of, Alexis doesn’t do sappy, she is more likely to kick you out of the bed than want to cuddle.

Your History -
Born on one of the Rim planets to two young unwed parents on the side of the Independence, when Vianne and Roux abandoned the seven year old Alexis in a shipping yard it set in motion the direction she would later take in life. It instilled in her a sense of loyalty to the Alliance for later taking her in and her love of ships. She smuggled herself onto an Alliance cargo ship heading towards Londinium which would later become her home. Much to her dismay she was caught by the Captain who instead of spacing her found her spry fire-cracker attitude amusing. Even at 7 she was a strong little thing, but a cargo ship was no place for a child. When they reached Londinium he delivered her to an orphanage where she would spend the next six years bouncing from foster home to foster home.
No one wanted a reckless, rebellious girl. As she grew older into her pre-teens she only got worse and more brazen. She was abused by several households. The first household she was sent to was a dump. The wife was a needy woman that had a predilection for adopting children and being a kleptomaniac. The husband was no better, a deadbeat alcoholic who was too lazy to do anything except yell at the children and demand that his woman wasn’t cooking his dinner fast enough. There were simply too many mouths to feed and as the newest addition to the ever growing horde of children she was often forgotten and went sometimes several days without a proper meal. She quickly learned to steal things from the kitchen. For this and other acts of rebellion, or what she saw as survival, Alexis was locked up in a tiny, dark closet and often forgotten about for hours or even sometimes a few days until no one could ignore her pounding and screaming. Over time she learned to steal the small booklets of matches the wife kept all around the house since she was an avid smoker. When she was locked inside she would light the matches and let them burn down almost until they burned her fingers, and even then sometimes she did. It gave her a sense of security, comfort, a little break from the darkness. From this point on she hated the feeling of being trapped and feared small dark places. She also loved fire and playing with matches.
Her next family at the age of 10 was a relatively nice family. They had quite a bit of money and dotted on her giving her blueberry waffles with syrup, new dresses and all the toys she could ever want. She thought she had found the perfect home, but her dream was not to last. They were also drug addicts and made most of their money through dubious means, but on the books it looked all clean and nice. Over the following months Alexis came to realize how manipulative they actually were. Her world was turned upside down amidst lavish parties, illegal gambling, and infidelity. Neither of them were the most faithful of partners. The husband frequently had Companions over all dressed in their finery when his wife was away, which was often. She too had her fair share of lovers, Companion or otherwise. The precocious, curious young Alexis got to know the girls that were run in and out of the house. Many of them such as Serena and Giselle were there so often they began teaching the young girl about what Companionship meant. Slowly her young mind wrapped itself around the meaning and power of seduction. Almost a year later her foster parents were arrested for fraud and embezzlement respectively, and Alexis was shipped back to the orphanage.
The third foster home she was entrusted to was perhaps the worst. The wife was a kind hearted woman but the husband, Garret Purcell, was a functioning alcoholic. When he was drunk however, he was violent. Within the first year his wife died of cancer. This sent him into more of a bitter, angry state than he was born into and he blamed Alexis for his wife’s death. For three years he abused her, beat her, nearly killed her a few times until one day she fought back. Garret was also handsy and a sick, cruel, evil man. Sometimes to trick him into giving her food she would play nice and act as though she were seducing him. Throughout her years in the foster system she learned what it was to be a criminal, the trickery, the grifters, the con-artistry, and seduction.
In one of the fiercest beatings he had ever given her the 13 year old Alexis managed to take his rhino from him and aimed it at him. Garret lumbered towards her with a devilish grin, “Gimme tha’ ye lil shit,” he laughed slurring his words which had never been too good to begin with, “Ye won’ shoo’ me, now han’it over,” he demanded still stumbling towards her. “I will,” she yelled, “I will!” tears streaming down her face mixing with the blood and dirt. Garret simply laughed, a gravely, dark laugh. Then ‘BAM!’ she shot him in the leg. A string of curse words flew out of his mouth as he was thrown onto the floor by the force of the blow, but Alexis wouldn’t be staying to hear what he had to say. She ran out of the house with her small hand still clenched like a death grip around the gun and left him sitting there bellowing after her. She ran, and ran until she couldn’t run any more. Finally she collapsed in a field somewhere. The peace and silence of what would have been a picturesque landscape was interrupted by her sobbing, she couldn’t let go of the gun in her hand for a long time. Garret lived, but Alexis’ days of foster care appeared over for the foreseeable future. Later that evening she was found by the authorities and sent away to a correctional facility for young girls. Alexis had buried the gun somewhere only she could find, which she later dug up and to this day keeps in her possession as a reminder.
A few weeks later Kathleen came to the correctional facility. The Jennings family had taken in a few kids temporarily to try and help straighten them out. Tom and Kathleen had never been able to have children of their own and yet they had never quite found the right fit for their home. Alexis was continually getting beaten up pretty badly by some of the girls there and the facility wasn’t a safe place for her. One of Kathleen’s friends who worked at the facility asked if she could take Alexis in for a few days until they found a more suitable establishment for her. At 13 Alexis was an angry, stubborn little girl, but Kathy took a shine to her almost instantly. Tom was a bit more reserved at the dinner table that night. He did not find her smart-alike comments amusing. Kathy thought Alexis was a breath of fresh air and told her husband that she simply needed a stable home to feel safe in. Tom begrudgingly agreed to a trial week at his wife’s request. A week turned into months, months turned into a proper foster home, and then at 15 she was officially adopted by the Jennings family and changed her last name from Delacour to Jennings.
The Jennings’ were a decorated military family. Kathleen, although not military herself was the daughter of a politician and Alliance military veteran. Tom had been a high ranking officer in the Alliance Military. He had fought proudly in the war, and had commanded his own platoon of men. Many of them died but they killed more Browncoats than they lost men. Tom received the purple heart at the end of the war for his valor and for saving the surviving members of his platoon from a mine in which he was severely injured, but he survived. He walks with a limp, but is still quite mobile.
Alexis had a lot of respect for Tom, who she later called father, and he instilled in her the meaning of honor. Throughout High School Alexis was a reckless, rebellious, spontaneous, wild teen. Tom’s relationship with Alexis was at times tenuous seeing as he continually tried to teach her combat skills, and sometimes his form of parenting was preparing. He quickly learned that restraining her to teach her how to get out of such situations was NOT a good tactic. Tom received a black eye for that one, but after coaxing and preening Alexis she realized that his attempt at coaching her in the ways of combat was his way of expressing his fatherly love for her. Tom was a gruff gentleman was a gentleman nonetheless. He taught her how to be adaptable while fighting, to use as little weapons as possible, or in situations where she had no weapons to use her surroundings to her advantage. Even with all his attempts to encourage her into becoming a commando Alexis still held that unexplainable love of ships and flying. Every summer Tom gave into this love of hers for flying and would take her out with some of his Alliance military veterans to watch the ships. This was also where she learned how to fly. This summer activity became a regular thing that began happening more and more readily. Sometimes Tom would take Alexis on a long weekend and allow one of his best friends Steven ‘Sparky’ Wright to show her something else about piloting that he did not know. Sparky was a surly old man but knew everything there was to know about piloting and combat fighting.
After high school 17-18 Alexis applied for and was accepted to the Naval Academy to become a fighter pilot. She settled down significantly. Aside from her loving parents, the military taught her discipline. She went through the Naval Academy to earn her degree and commission at 21, then she went through the naval flight school to be a pilot. After a year, at 22 she specialized and became a fighter pilot fresh out of schooling and green as they come. Over the next few years she began climbing ranks. Four years later, at 26 she was assigned to the Penumbra Dawn as the Co-pilot/Gunner for the Dropship.

The bitter cold of St. Albans cut to her core. The wet cold from the snow blanketing the planet seeped through Alexis’ furs and standard issue uniform. Even through her jacket beneath her now damp white and grey fur coat--if she stood up it would make her look like the snow monster cometh--which had been built to keep out the cold. Snowflakes had clung to her eyelashes and made them clump together into tiny white tipped dark icicles. The sweat on her face had dried and created ruddy patches mingled with a smattering of ice crystals.
As she lay there in the cover of a small mountain crossbow aimed, ready, waiting she watched as her breath billowed into the air like fog. It had been too long. He wasn’t coming. The intel must have been wrong. Alexis had never had to wait this long. This was supposed to be a simple assignment. Shoot the traitor with a non-lethal-poisoned arrow (preferably nowhere vital, they wanted him alive), he goes night, night, she exports him off this god forsaken planet and back to the Alliance where they interrogate him. Simple. Nothing was ever simple for Alexis.
She was running out of time. If he didn’t show up soon she was going to miss her rendezvous and be stuck on this deathtrap of a planet. Alexis may have loved thunderstorms and to watch the rain sleet sideways but she hated being cold. At least she didn’t also have to be enclosed in some small dark place. Being imprisoned would be the worst thing for her. That was when she saw him. Her mark stumbling out of a bar. She almost felt sorry for the poor bastard who would very soon find himself in the same situation she dreaded, caged in a small dark box. She stared down the shaft of her arrow, “Sweet dreams darlin’,” she whispered softly. Inhale. Exhale, and release.
