Other - a chain around his neck, he generally keeps it under his shirt but hanging on it is two wedding bands. he does also have a single picture of his family. He also has glasses as he is farsighted.
Likes - Scotch, children, guiding others (bit of a father figure), staying fit, his guns.
Dislikes - people asking about his past, cheap beer, people not performing there best, being caught off guard, the Alliance poking there nose in peoples business.

Overall Personality - John is still getting used to not being a father anymore, he tends to instruct others even when they don't think they want his help. He can be protective of those he teaches, and especially of children. He feels he has to take responsibility of people till they can prove to him they are capable of handling themselves. This tends to get on his friends nerves but they usually recognize his effort in trying to make them the best they can be. He is bent on finding the man who killed his entire family, but he has no idea who it could have been just that it was an alliance officer. When ever he finds a hint of who did it that is the only thing he can focus on. If you had the luck of knowing him before he was a generally happy man, who cared deeply for his family. Now he is all business, serious and to the point. He is loyal to those he feels who deserve it, and once you've earned it he will always have your back. John has a unique personal code of honor, he never kills a man he doesn't have to and when he does he makes it a quick clean kill. Every once in a while he will open up a little and you'll get to see a bit of his old self, but that happens rarely, he is a cold empty man that still hears the laughter of his children every night.

Your History - John grew up on Aberdeen with a fairly normal childhood he had younger two sisters and a single younger brother. His father died when John was 12, and quickly learned to take care of his family. when the war started john was reluctant to go. while many of his friends rushed to sign up for the independents John stayed back to continue caring for his family, in this time he met Meagan. they fell deeply in love with each other, practically inseparable. In Johns home town there was talk of marriage and many people were excited. The day John finally decided to ask Meagan to marry him, his little brother in listed with the Browncoats. Furious John went after him, unable to change Jacobs mind John decided to enlist as well to keep an eye out for his little brother. Before John left for the war he left a ring in box in an old oak tree on a small river island, where he and Meagan spent most of their time together. He left Meagan a letter telling her if anything ever happens to him to open the box and that whats inside is hers.
John and his brother quickly became skilled soldiers in the war, both being excellent shots, soon joined a squad of snipers. Stealth soon became a tool the brothers used often and well. all though Jacob had the higher kill count John was the better shot, never missing his target giving a quick and clean death. John and his brother were at an independent base of operations. They just arrived to begin a new mission. John went to the commanding officer to report in and Jacob went to the armory to pre-pair for their next mission. A relatively new soldier had not closed a box of land mines and Jacob accidentally knocked over the box. Nearly 30lbs of explosives went off in that building. John tried to get to his brother, but the building (what was left) had set on fire. He felt helpless as he watched the building burn down to a cinder, unable to go after Jacob because the fires became to hot. For months Jacobs death haunted John during the last years of the war John grew dark and sullen, he doesn't think to much about what happened in that last year. Just that he did his job and he did it better than most. The Battle of Serenity Valley brought John out of his deepening dark state the blood shed and crushing defeat remind him of how much he just wanted to be back home, how he never cared who was in charge. Just as long as he got to live his life out with his family in relative peace.
After the war John returned home and married Meagan and had two beautiful girls. They were 9 and 5 when John's house was burned down, with them still alive inside. There was a local regiment of Alliance soldiers, and one of the commanding officers took a liking to Meagan. When she refused him the soldier left and got drunk, he later returned to John's house. Not much is known about what actually happened, all any of the neighbors could tell John was that Meagan screamed and some kind of fight had happened. John had been visiting another town for business, and when he returned he found that his wife and daughters had burned alive. When he went looking for the Officer the Alliance told him to let them handle it. A year went by and John spent most of his time drinking at the local pub, the alliance never found the man and had no leads. Johns friends encouraged him to try and start a new life for himself. So John left on the first shuttle taking what jobs he could. Now John is looking for a new job, hoping one that travels a lot and works below radar no longer wanting to deal with the Alliance.

Roleplay Example - "Thadin! Dear, dinners ready!" yelled Cairistiona. John put down the hatchet and picked up the split logs with one arm "Alright mom!" he headed for the house. Two little girls came running from behind the barn, they were laughing as they ran by John. John quickly grabbed one of the girls by the waist "Gotcha!" laughing as the little girl struggled to escape. "let me go John!" yelled Aileen "Or what little sister" laughed John. Sally came over to John trying to rescue her twin sister, John quickly dropped the firewood and picked up his other sister. "Now i have you both, whatcha going to do now?" said John smiling. Jacob came up behind them picking up the firewood "Would you let them go John, I'm want to eat". John looked over his shoulder and put his sisters down, Aileen straightened out her hair, stuck out her pink little tongue and ran inside. Sally turned around punched John in the stomach and ran laughing. John let out an "Oof" still smiling, Jacob came up next to John laughing "Sally's has been practicing that right hook you taught her." John looked up at his younger brother "Yea, starting to regret that" he laughed and walked in to the house.

"I don't care Jacob i need you here. I can't take care of this farm on my own!" yelled John. "John your not Dad! You can't tell me what i can and can't do! I'm joining the Browncoats!" Jacob yelled back and before John could say anything Jacob stormed out of the house. "Jacob! Wait!" John yelled as he ran for the door, but Jacob disappeared in the dark of the night.

John quickly came through the door "Mom! Mom! Were are you!". Aileen came out of the kitchen "Your leaving too, aren't you?". Cairistiona came out behind Aileen with Sally hanging onto her dress "What dear? is this true? i thought you were just going after Jacob?" you could hear the fear in her voice. Sally said in her squeaky little voice "He already left, John missed him at the port." Cairistiona quickly turned around and said to sally "Sweetheart we talked about this. We don't read people, we respect there privacy" she quickly turned around looking at John "thadin you go after him and keep the two of you safe. If he won't come back you have to go after him." she gave him a weak smile. John didn't know what to say, he didn't want to leave his family. He also didn't want to admit it but he was afraid of the war. The twin sisters quickly hugged there big brother Aileen looked up at John and said "Don't worry about us we'll take care of each other" She smiled grabbed her sister's hand and walked up to their room. John ran to his mom kissed her on the cheek and said "I'll bring him back mom i promise".
Slowly John woke up, a chain with two gold rings dangled from his neck. He checked the time and got up to freshen up a bit. He stood there in front of his mirror and starred at himself. It was a slight blur with out his glasses or contacts, but he could still see well enough. Forcing himself he got ready for the day. Collecting his gear he walked out of his room grabbing a small photo, the only evidence of the times when Thadin John Strike was a content happy man. He placed the picture in the breast pocket of his jacket glancing at it for a second. Looking up he continued on no plans, no designation, only the chance of fruitful revenge.
