I'd like to set the ship up on an episode basis. Where this is all considered episode 1, and all this is episode 2, and all this is for episode 3, based on what happens in episode one and two. In that way, our ship operates on seasons like a show, and is easy to navigate in thread trackers, and in my head. "Remember in season one when Roger slapped that guy's tooth out?" "Oh yeah in the Duck Dynasty episode?" "Yeah yeah, thats it. Ok, that dude is the bad guy here." "Cool" So... - Ship is put together on Beaumonde and the starter team assembles.
- Tali and Roger review the complete information on Marcus Lee, which I will be copy and pasting under this bullet point thingamajig.
- The team heads out to question a guy who used to work for Marcus Lee. So when they get to old buddy, Roger drops the "M L" name, and the guy, who hasn't heard that name in months, panics. A bunch of his goons come in and hence starts a first rate gunfight/tooth-knockin-out-good-time. So Rog and Vi kill a few random badguys, those guys are important enough to warrant names, lets see... badguy #1, badguy #2, badguy #3 and badguy #4. Yep, that'll do. So after offin the little guys, they drag ol' whatshisface to the hospital to be sure he doesn't die before he coughs up the goods.
- So the guy wakes up, and spills the goods. Rog, make the call, we kill him now, or we keep him alive. First morality choice. Renegade for life bro.
- Ros and Rog have a few laughs and she gets Presto Chango'ed onto the crew
- Roger meets with his dealer here, for the first time, and we stock up on new toys.
PEOPLE OF IMPORTANCE Friends Foes Marcus Lee, I figured it was time to give this villain a face. We can change it, thoughts? Thoughts? Rog, is there any way to convolute this shit worse? Should the Parliament owners be owners of the defense company? Co-owners? What do you think? I think that's insider trading, but, I'm not the one in law school. I'm working with the idea, that if it's illegal in America, then it's illegal in the Alliance. So go nutz. If they are secretly doing insider trading, or some white collar illegal junk, they could be blackmailed to help us. Anyone else want some crazy bad guy besides Marcus to be on the list of douches-to-have-their-heads-roll? --Future list of Marcus Lee's network will arrive and be placed here--

Ok, lemme start with a request for Roger. Since you are the captain and all. At the end of threads, or what you determine to be a good stopping point, will you post "End of Thread" so no one else posts there for absolutely no reason. In the past, threads I was trying to wrap up, got pulled into motion again, and they just dulled on with no enthusiasm. I'm all about ending a thread at the proper time. It doesn't matter if it's one post or fifty, if the story here is done, then we end it. But, I leave that up to you bud. Ok, second, our thread tracker. I was reallllllly hopin we could all agree on this epic ass idea. So I'd like to set it up like this; --Peerless Recruitment Threads-- Vitale's Recruitment.Rosalind's(Born on Rosiland) Recruitment.Keller's Recruitment.[/ul] --Episode One-- Beating Cheverus Brains OutMeeting the MedicWatch Me SoarOh Yeah This Shit Is Awesome[/ul] --Episode Two-- Crippling SupermanOut of Bullets, Out of MindMy Ship Needs No RulesBlablabla[/ul] And so on and so forth, until we have ten episodes, or some major event that changes perspectives, or whatever. Then, Season one concludes. Please check Yes/No And last of all, an idea for a new crew position. Spoke with Jules a bit on this last night, but I thought it would be cool. Live intel in the field. So the idea is that someone with combat experience, like Keller(Gun), but that wants to write it, she's thinkin about it, but she does like the idea, views the battle via satellite feed, or even the Peerless sensors themselves. Now, while Roger and Vitale are on the ground, they have earpieces in, and Keller(Gun) feeds them info about what's going on in their battlefield. IE; [/ul] It has potential for all types of situations, ranging from humor to outright shocking moments if someone dies. Plus, you get to know whats coming, and whats going on with your ship. We'd need Roger to think of it, and buy a Satellite we can deploy and recover for when the Peerless itself lands, and also radarish stuff that can be installed on the ship itself for when the Peerless remains in orbit. Perhaps the shipboard sensors are far better, and include things that the sattilite doesn't. I dunno, infrared or somfin. I think it adds some slick ass spice to the mix. Thoughts?

Episodes and Seasons? Yes.
Illegality of Hans Gruber AKA Marcus Lee: Yes and no. I assume yes. It's perfectly legal for politicians to have investments but you can't throw all your government contracts to the people you happen to have investments in. That is illegal. If Lee is one of many contractors and he only gets his fair share of work and he gets them because his prices are low and his quality is high then there is nothing horribly wrong with that. It's my understanding that such an arrangement is not the case. Lee and his Alliance buddies are basically getting rich off this deal.
Re: New Job That would take her out of the action for starters. We'd need to by new tech too. If we were to get this fancy new toy then I don't see why the pilot or someone who would be back on the ship anyway can't do it. Maybe Keller or somebody runs the drone when the pilot is still flying the ship, but I don't see why we'd bench her back on the parked ship if we didn't have to.

Well like I said, that was more about the job, not the person. The jobs is cool. I was just using Jules as an example is all.

Oooooookiiiiiidokie. So we are in full swing, but we have a few questions that need some rogering to iron out the details. Everyone should know our chronical...ol..igy? Whatever the word is, but, i'm gonna timeline it for you if you don't. By order of that cronic word; - Roger and Vi go meet Cheverus.
- They beat all the bad guys.
- They take Cheverus to Ros.
- Rog and Ros talk about stuff while Vi extracts intel about the next mission.
- Rog, Vi and Gunn(Keller) go to buy guns from our as of yet unnamed arms dealer.
- Gunn(Keller) is tasked with storing the weapons.
Now these next two happen in tandem, meaning, they are happening at the same time.
- Rog and Vi go to meet with Mai, and the whole group must have epic escape scene.
- Ros decides to come join the crew, and shows up at the ship to be greeted by Gunn(Keller)
So that's the cronic version of how this all happens. A few things right quick. Roger, Jules an me have been talkin about the gun shopping spree, and since we have had two threads to help build Vi and Rog, we think it would be cool if Vi went along, but was left to hold down the car, you know, cause its a dangerous part of town. Or, since they did just gun down four guys, you might leave him at the ship, your choice either way. But Jules wants some board time, and they could use some character face time. Jules and me jus got off the phone, and she's gonna wait for your response to this post, before she goes in Meet the Medic"(TF2 edi! lol). Saying that to say this, are you ready to start the gun shopping thread, or would you like Jules to start it? If you choose to take Vitale, and leave him at the car, I'd be happy to start it. Now, in the thread, Roger was given the card, but, there is no reason why I couldn't begin with the idea that Roger gave Vitale the card, told him to do his thing, Vi researched it, set up a buy with Roger's approval, and they go from there. I can start it when I get home tonight if you'd like. Next. If we are planning to do the post, wonderful, we thought, Gunn(Keller) could be actively putting away the bought guns in the introduction to the "Meet the Medic" thread. That's why we are waitin on you to decide. If that is a plan, as me and Jules discussed on the phone, did you have somewhere specific she should be putting the guns? Like, in the Peerless setup, you mention that one day that storage space behind the kitchen(I think) might be an armory. Should we get the ball rollin on that deal, or just a simpler setup? In construction, my dad always said that we can change or make anything, it's only wood and nails. And here, it's just words, so literally just choose based on your own desire for the story, we are both cool either way. And that leads me to my last point. NPCs. Whether you know it or not, Gunn(Keller) brought one along with her, and his name is "The gorram, tian di wu yohn, hwo gai, yi dwei da buen chuo roh, chwen" (also known as Lewis). As of right now, Lewis is our only named NPC. Now, I know that the ship is manned by players, not NPCs, but lets talk about this a second. I think we(we meaning you Roger) should pick an amount of NPC staff to fill out the ranks on the ship that are not otherwised filled, but are essential to the ship's maintenance of healthy running. After we know how many, we can choose gender, names and playbys, which I will list here(Well, not here, but up above in the first post which covers NPC casting) for plot development. So instead of some vague pilot that we know we have, but don't mention by name, and everyone never talks about causblablabla... We can name him, and use him as needs be. I did this in the syndicate stuff, and it was very useful, and continues to be. Now, not all positions will stay NPC, and the hope here, is that the ship grows and builds and blablabla, but in realistic fashion, someone will inevitably pick up a position, and drop it for one reason or another. When that happens, we do what you said we would do, which I happen to agree with. We write that person off the ship, and bring back our NPC. For Roger, that should suffice, we've discussed it, for the rest; Let's say Jimmy, our favorite NPC pilot, is replaced by Peter Piper the Pilot(character of Jimbob-the-writer). Well, Peter does just fine for a while. We all like him, and he is a cool writer with blablabla skills of writing that he brings to the table. But, dun dun duuuun, Jimbob-the-writer fails to come back for multiple weeks after he left one day for real life, well... crapbaskits. What now? Well I'll tell you what now, we bring back good ol' Jimmy the NPC that we named, playbyed and set up some form of background for.So Roger and everyone else, can we do this? Does everyone like the idea of helping to build a character, and remember to include them when it's appropriate? Edi, Ros is unloading heavy equipment and loads of meds at a port one day, DON'T DO IT ALONE! NPCs Dick and Jane are here to help! Good old Pilot-Jimmy sure could use the coordinates to our landing site, Davis, throw him a bone. As we rp them, and you all start filling out little nuances about them, I will catalog their histories here. If you have some playby you'd like to see as the superfly mechanic of hotness for your character to steam over, shoot me a pm with the pic, or just put it here, and I'll update the records with it. And in threads like "Meet the Medic" when Gunn(Keller) goes to set up a full on Arsenal of weapons, she can boss around good old likable Gorram, tian di wu yohn, hwo gai, yi dwei da buen chuo roh, chwen" (also known as Lewis). /long winded rant.

Reading all that was pretty draining, but I get the idea, in the so many words you used. I don't see why it would hurt to have a few random NPCs that we can get rid of / bring back as we need them. Mostly so we at least always have someone flying the ship or fixing that leaky pipe in the head. The pilot themselves could just be someone Onas supplied with the ship to get them moving until Roger found someone more to his pleasing and to also keep them in business. Then send him off when we have that ace pilot to call our own. Or at least someone supplied to get them the rut off of Beaumonde seeing as they've gotten into nothing but trouble since they got there. Haha. It was actually something I did with one of my old ships I captain'd. I had an NPC mechanic because we never got one that stayed, and the story that would get him thrown off was he was gonna get too friendly with our innocent little medic in training ( our own boss-lady Wis at the time ;] ) and my Captain Lady just threw him off. But only when a player wanted that spot, etc. For the record, I'mma just call the guy Lewis. Or " you there ". Far as timeline goes-- I don't have much input. Looks good to me! I'm easy to move around and put places when needed.

Chronologic, chronological, chronology Re: Oooh guns guns gunsI actually did name him in the last thread, "Ru Jiang". I have little plans beyond that. Who ever can start that thread whenever. As much as I understand Vitale taking a backseat, I think it's still important that the guy whose only job is to kill stuff and has been training for MONTHS to do that should be there. Hopefully this secret illegal gunshop/armory isn't going to be a place the cops will find us and we don't need a lookout. And yes, stuff like that would assuming it is not a personal purchase would go in the storage room. When I said that it might later be turned into an armory I meant it might later get a fullblown remodelling. So instead of some guns and ammo in a handful of crates, boxes, strewn across tables, etc. we would actually get like weapon racks along the wall, little compartments beneath each weapon with magazines for it, little closets dedicated to that specific type of ammo, a section for explosives, maybe some body armor, tactical rigs, gas maskes, etc. to the side. It's the difference in keeping a gun in your closet and then turning your closet into this. And of course the NPC thing has my approval since that was one of the founding ideas for the ship. I just never got to establishing NPCs yet because I didn't know what our PC crew was going to look like. I'll probably work on one or two down the road.

The string of swearwords is just Gunn's opinion.
I wouldn't have a problem with us each kinda picking an NPC and owning it more or less. I mean, for use by the crew where a mention needs to be made, but just so we could have a certain style for the NPC. It would make them more varied, each person could write a brief story for the NPC. Just so we have a little depth.
Again, just my $0.02. It would keep Roger from having to make them all if we each got to make one.
Likewise, if we wanted to keep the character, we could make them adoptable couldn't we? Idk. Kind of a pre-established place on the Peerless (a lot of 'p' words in that sentence).
But I'm rambling. So, synopsis: 1) Players make the NPC's 2) Specific player writes the NPC where it's beyond a brief "Lewis was in the background eating cheezits" mention
Basically, I'm thinking just give us a list of what ranks we need and we post with NPC ideas. I like making character concepts, anyway.
Edit to add: And yes, I do realize we intend for them to be interchangeable with characters who vanish, but I still think it would be interesting to "animate" NPC's in the mean time.

I agree with Jules. I mean, I agree with Yautja about the NPC idea and with everything that was said after that haha how easy am I? But anyway, I like Jules' idea that each player can be responsible for one NPC in a way. They would still be NPCs but a little more developed? And Roger wouldn't have to come up with all of them himself.
The downside is that if we start owning the NPCs others might not feel so comfortable using them?
As for the rest, the timeline works for me. And Mai is not involved in the gun buy thing so I don't know if I should make any input. That being said, I would have to agree that it doesn't make much sense for Vitale to stay out. It would make a fun thread for Roger, Gunn and Vitale.
