Hello guys,

I'm posting here with the captain's permission so we can discuss how to get Mai aboard the fine ship that's the Peerless. Some sucking up is always welcome . I had a couple ideas on how to include her in the plot and the one that stands out is Onas placing her there? I mean, in my app I mentioned a crime lord pulled some strings and managed to get her released from an Alliance Federal prison. Right now she owes this man her freedom so maybe this man is Onas and he places her aboard? I'm not sure with what purpose. I don't know if the Onas' player is okay with this but maybe we can sort it out?

if that doesn't work I can always toss her in the middle of the Peerless mission. She's pulling a job on the guy the Peerless is going after, Marcus Lee, and gets caught in the middle of the mess?

This is just a couple ideas. I'm open to suggestions and I'm looking forward to writing with you all.

Both sound good to me. The former (Onas connection) would be the easiest and fastest way to get you onto the ship. The later is certainly an alternative but it would happen down the line a bit (i.e. you'd have to wait a while to actually RP with us) and there would also be some difficulty plotting it just right so that we all come out alive, as friends, and with Mai on the Peerless for the long haul.

I agree the Onas connection is the easiest and fastest way. It's the best option imho but I wanted to have a few more options in case that didn't work.

I just need a reason why he would put a grifter in the crew. Maybe he thinks she can help Roger and the crew get near Marcus? I'll PM Onas to see if they are okay with Onas' involvement in Mai's recruitment.

Whutup whutup. Hello Fry, we know each other actually. I also play Onas, and in chatbox I am Yautja. Jus throwin that out there.

Now, we can absolutely use Onas to put anyone on board. Right now, the only drawback to this, is Roger(The Character) beginning to feel like the whole crew came from Onas, well, because they did. Early on, one of our things was going to be that Onas would be bowing out of the ship and it's control, and let Roger recruit his own people. So, let me offer and alternative option.

Roger could decide that he needs a hacker(grifter), and contacts Onas to find him one. Onas would contact Mai, and tell her that it's time to pay off that dept. It can be him by the way, simply sending her out, but this way, Roger(the character) is getting to not only draw in the crew he wants, but also it would give Rog an opportunity to work with Onas to get another full time member, rather than just being given one without request. Plus, the crime lord in your bio was based on Persephone, so that is just perfect.

I'm okay with any idea.Your suggestion works perfectly to me. It's just a matter of Roger saying yes or no. I'm easy and thanks so much for allowing me to say the crime lord is Onas. I think it makes things more interesting than me using a NPC. The Persephone thing was pure luck lol.

So, if Roger doesn't mind saying his plan to get to Marcus might need an extra hand in the form of a petite Chinese grifter than I'm happy to go with your idea.

That's more what I had in mind actually and just didn't specifically vocalize it. She doesn't get sent along in the initial batch of people to staff the ship but comes on a request for a specialist. Sounds good to me.

Now we just need to work into our current Beaumonde plot finding something that would prompt such a request and we can pick up Mai on our next stop. Or maybe by some amazing coincidence she's actually on Beaumonde, a coincidence which is a factor in Onas picking her of all hackers/grifters in the 'Verse. Makes Onas look like more of a bad ass "Oh I just happen to have someone like that. Turn around. She's right across the street." And it gets Mai on the ship that much faster.

Mai can be in Beaumonde. LOL I love amazing coincidences. She can be there coming from a job or to pull a con. There are tourists in the area, always a good target for quick/short cons. We just need Roger to ask Onas for the grifter and she can show up with her luggage .

Alright, well I don't see why this thread needs to wait any longer to get started. Waiting for our need for a hacker to materialize and then having a boring thread requesting one doesn't seem necessary at all. Let's just assume that after the current thread chain with Roger and Vitale ends up we have that need and make the call.

Now, Mai is already on Beaumonde and gets the call from Onas. All we need to do is RP a quick thread with her actually getting picked up. As I see it, we have three options:

1) She just goes to the docks and walks on the ship. Simple and just an introduction thread both to the ship and the crew. "Oh hi. Onas sent me."

2) Mai is sent to wait someplace (cafe, bar, library, teddy bear factory... wherever) and Roger goes and meets her there. They have a brief exchange and then thread ends with them heading back to the ship. There is no ship tour or anything beyond what Roger tells her there.

3) We actually make some kind of event out of it. Roger (and possibly others) go to meet Mai and instead of a calm talk something goes down (e.g. a pickpocket gabs Vitale's wallet and we have a brief chase, or maybe someone recognizes Roger and Vitale from the earlier fight and call the feds and we need to beat feet back to the ship). Less talking and more action. Gets the same basic thing done and has her get hired with a bang. It's not the kind of thing where you can prove yourself to the crew but you're already starting to work your way into the family.

Yes. It would be great if we can get Mai into the action asap because I've been itching to play with you guys.

I like all the options and while the first one is tempting."Oh hi. Onas sent me." It's a quick way to get her aboard the third idea sounds a lot of fun.

I'm all for the feds showing up, someone recognizing either Roger or Vitale and getting hired with a bang hahah. That being said, would Roger and/or Vitale risk being recognized to meet her someplace in town? We could always have her show up at the docks then we say a fed recognizes the guys or a dock security? A fight ensues to keep the guy from contacting the feds and they need to flee quickly?

We might be able to do that. Meet her not far from the ship itself, feds show up, and that's why we leave Beaumonde so quickly. Cops are literally chasing us onto the ship.

Yeah. I loved your idea and I think it can be a lot of fun. I can have Mai showing up at the docks, maybe she was supposed to meet him at this cafe or bar at the docks vicinity when feds show up to have a word with Roger.

Mai will love Roger and Vitale. She's with the crew for less than thirty seconds and she has feds on her ass already haha.
