Halloween Event Suggestions

If we do end having a Halloween event in the upcoming weeks, I want it to be something that you guys decide on, not just the staff. So, what ideas have you got, and why might they work?

Only thing I really ask, is that it is kept AU, because if it bombs, I don't wanna be stuck there like with the hunger games one back on The Verse.

Now, EVERY CHARACTER NAMED ROGER SHOULD SIMULTANEOUSLY 'SPLODE WHILE ALL CHARACTERS NAMED ONAS ARE GRANTED THE POWA OF KAMEHAMEHA!!!!!

I mean, if we wanna go for something that could possibly remain within the realms of canon, it'd pretty much be reavers, or people having nightmares. Or something to do with freaky psychic stuff. Like, NPC psychic girl/boy messing with people's minds as they slept.

But that'd be small and localised to one place.

As for AU... on the 'Verse we did this big thing where folks were all dreaming and having the same sorta nightmare but it was generally vague if it was real/fake/dream/bad tacos. That was just zombies, but I wouldn't mind some like... nightmarish creatures or alien-like-demon things. That'd be fun, too. Just general survival and horror, pick one character to submit, etc.

Also split it into small teams-- depending on how many folks it could just be one team. Random bunch of characters thrown into old and abandoned creepy scene #231.

And as Onas said, if it bombs, we don't need to worry-- Or, like, skip people if it takes too long / have folks join in late if they want in. Just express it's for fun.

One idea that just popped into my mind (for an AU scenario) is something like the Uni Wars but with the bugs from Starship Troopers instead of the Alliance. Which should be fun.

Actual stories aside, I'm mentioned one great thing I did on a forum awhile back. Halloween is all about scary stories and stuff, right? Well it's also all about dressing up. For Halloween, everyone "dresses up" as someone else on the site. So I would make my avatar for Roger Karl Urban or Guy Pearce. Then Vitale or Cole have their avatars changed and so on. It generally leads to mass confusion and is a lot of fun. I assume it would work better with a larger member base but it should still be fun here.

If we don't pull off a big plot line then we should at least do something small like this... or do both.

I did like the dream element. Then one location makes sense and it can be held to cannon if we wanted to. Like if Onas and Lin Hawkins met in the dream world, then met one day in rp, they may have these... moments, where they're like, "Oh... do I know you?"

Put old peeps together, new peeps, peeps who have never met. Ollie, we could do a lot with this. And, if it's a dream, anything goes(DRAGONS!!!! *SQUEEE-LIKEA-GIRL*), it would make sense to drop someone when they fell silent for too long and them just pick back up. Oh, Roger didn post for sixteen days straight, and I'm tired of waitin? IC:

That was when the shooting started.[/ul]I mean, the things you could do with this could just keep changing, and we could technically explain it somehow, to use it in the cannon. Some kind of creepy reaver thing, or far better, just some supernatural thing. You can't just write off the supernatural in a world that embraces both space travel AND psychics. Anything goes.

The face-swapping would be fun if there's enough people who go along with it.

Also it could be easy to just leave whatever happens unexplained. Like, spooky, there's probably an explanation like a cult of psychics or something but there's a lot of eerie and scary monster-type stuff you barely glimpse and then it's like "did that happen?"

I'm more for the dream myself, though. Also I'll probably use Edi. Because I've yet to use her and that's just silly 'cause she's the first character I made on this site lol.

Not to bring back a dead topic, but I think the dream idea is pretty flawless. Like Vitale says, it allows for people to continue a thread even if someone stops posting via 'fades' in the dream. It would be fun to have people who would normally not interact with each other do so. We can have the story be AU in a sense because it's in a linked dream with everyone and we can make a 'Verse explanation that there is a psychic that found and hid in Mr. Universe's old hideout. He might have found a way to access the transmitter and used it to send out psychic signals around the systems.

Explains the dreams, explains the linking, explains how to stop it. Plus I'd love to see some Alliance officers/soldiers teaming up with Browncoats And we could make them work together via that Starship Troopers scenario or something like it! And make pain in the AU dream world real in the actual 'verse. Incentives to work together and live.
